Great news. For those who haven't played RE in a while. RE2, 3, 4 remake + VII and Village are all superb. Loved them all. I'll stick with PC, but huge win for those who haven't played RE in a while. the series is back with power.

Day 1 release alongside the other versions of the game is a bit of a surprise. I thought maybe it would be a few months afterwards.
Will be getting the Switch 2 version of Reqieum and maybe one of VII or Village ... is there a consensus on which of those two is better?

I think VII is considered the best one by most RE fans.
You can feel the industry changing drastically with big ticket releases like Resident Evil 9 and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part III being titles that will release day and date on home and a mobile platform like the Switch 2.

I think Village is the superior experience. However, I strongly recommend playing VII first, if only for narrative reasons.
Switch 2 is a kiddie system. Games like RE7 will not sell well there.

The reason will not be because people think its a kiddie system, it will be because its a GAME-KEY-CARD or CODE-IN-A-BOX.
