Saw a similar discussion elsewhere but decided to change it up a bit.

Your favorite game, what would you add in or take out from to in your opinion make it better?

(You can do multiple games if you want)

For me - my favorite game (or one of them) is Chrono Trigger.

I would remove the The Doppel doll mini-game, always found it annoying as hell.

In terms of adding (not really adding into the game...) - I would say re-release this game on modern platforms, its stuck on PC and mobile phones right now lol.

Chrono Trigger, it was perfect I wouldn't have added anything. I do want to play the DS added content one day though. Maybe I'll try emulation or steam one day if we never get that rumored remake.

Zelda BotW/TotK are my all-time favorites. Boss battles and temples need a massive overhaul in both games.

FF7, golden choco is way too much.

i7-13700k

Vengeance 32 gb

RTX 4090 Ventus 3x E OC

Switch OLED

This is a fun thread idea!

I'll choose two. My pick for greatest game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Switch. I would remove any shrine puzzles based on motion controls, clean up the pop-in, and stabilize the frame rate. Other than that, it's perfect.

My personal favorite is Ocarina of Time on N64. I would overhaul the Gerudo stealth sequence, and streamline some of the backtracking necessary to hit 100%

I think my current favorite game is Baldurs Gate 3

I would make it better improving the flow of act 3. Act 2 is more story focused and feels more of a climax than act 3

Act 3 looks like a completely new game. There is a huge excess of quests, between companions and side quests and the flow of the act don't scream there is an invasion coming to destroy the city

I think the correct approach would be limiting the number of companions and quests that can be done in act 3, either by some decisions looking you out of the questlines or by also using a time limit to complete quests. Completionists would hate it though

For Kid Icarus Uprising I would have added an online mode where you play with preset weapons. The weapons fusion system was really cool, but it kind of meant lots and lots of grinding if you wanted to be able to win online.

Halo: Combat Evolved - The first six levels are great, but levels 7, 8, and 9 - The Library, Two Betrayals, and Keyes - I don't care for. I'd complete redesign them. The Library is pretty much the same areas over and over again, while Two Betrayals and Keyes are basically previous levels with some minor differences. The last level - The Maw - I am mostly fine with. Though, I'd redesign parts of the warthog run.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Metropolis is the only stage with three acts and is my least favorite. I'd make it just one act instead of three. I would also add a checkpoint between the two final bosses or add three rings on the final level. Having to beat 2 bosses back to back with zero rings is a bit nuts.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my favorite game. There is not much to add as game is already almost perfect. I just wish they added option to use Aion in Endgame. Also i would like more Super Bosses. Other then that game is 10/10

Final Fantasy IX. I'd speed up the battles a bit in general. I like the traditional battle system, but it would benefit from a faster pace overall. Other than that it would all be nitpicking. For example, some of the characters story arcs could be expanded further rather than wrapping up as early as they do.
