The curse is broken. Turns out the burnout was early stages of a crippling depression, I'm still pretty depressed but in being able to play a game for more than 10 minutes and remember what I was doing to stay engaged I can see the first signs of things improving. I am playing Halls of Torment right now and for the first time in 5 months I am actually enjoying a game, it's a mild enjoyment and I still need to force myself to play but as soon as I am playing I can focus and lock in on the game. I'm so fucking relieved, I thought I might have to top myself if it didn't show s8gns of improving. Hopefully in the weeks to come my head will get back in order as I play more games and train it out of depression.

@firebush03 Thank you for reaching out and noticing something was wrong. Appreciated.

Take a break focus on other things, games are meant to be enjoyed not burned out on from playing too much for the sake of it or for trying to beat too many games in too short a time or something.

Its fine to not play anything for like 2 days or longer then you are back to it.

I was able to get a three hours session in, two hours more than the best I managed in five months but ai actually enjoyed those three hours, I wasn't forcing myself. God has answered my prayers.

I never burn out using one simple method… and it’s not even a method I use to “prevent gaming burnout” but more so to not feel that depression of wasting time/doing nothing interesting or productive. That is: I never game unless in the company of others. It used to be friends/coworkers, but now family.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

That's...hmm, kinda odd.

Is gaming with other people really that odd? I suppose it’s all a matter of culture and perspective.

Oh, I thought you meant you only play games when people are around. Lol. Multilayer and co-op didn't even enter my brain.
