It was all the repetitive side content that wore me out. Every new area you unlocked, the same repetitive stuff.ÂÂ
I don't mind spending a lot of time with a game, but it has to have variety and experimentation. Hitman WoA was amazing on PSVR2. I skipped the whole gun stuff, ditching 90% of the 'complexity'. (I couldn't reach them, nor the ammo while sitting on the couch, VR fails) Ignored the main story and spend 100+ hours exploring the varied, very different levels and unique mission stories. Playing with the systems rather than following todo lists to gain xp or upgrade skills.
Find object, pick up and throw is all I needed to have all the fun in the game. And changing disguises of course. |
Oh, I know what ya mean. The Ubisoft formula. Yep, I got sick of those too but it wasn't THAT bloated compared to something like AC or Horizon FW. |
I guess it's what you like best. I didn't find Horizon FW bloated and treated that as a photography simulator, walking everywhere to enjoy the scenery. Same for RDR2 where I spend more time canoeing than on horseback lol.
All the Ubisoft busywork simply isn't necessary and only detrimental. If you enjoy a game you'll find your own things to do. Having repetitive side missions for perks simply isn't fun, it's work.
Horizon FW I played on easy, skipping most of the systems. I never bothered with poisons nor traps, no interest in that. I'm not looking for a challenge, I'm looking for relaxation. And then I can keep going with a game for a long time.
AC I gave up on long ago though, burned out on the one after Black Flag, AC Rogue, never came back.
