Not sure if it counts but the Ico, Last Guardian and SotC team. Loved their games. Shame they seem long gone.

Team ICO is back as genDesign

That is excellent news.

This isn't what I'd actually pick but since I don't think it's been mentioned yet I'll give a shout out to Swingin' Ape Studios. They only made one game but Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a great third person shooter that not many people know about. There were plans for a sequel but that unfortunately never happened.

Of the ones listed in OP:
Bullfrog - I need some more Syndicate games!

Otherwise a studio not listed in OP:
Gremlin Graphics/Gremlin Interactive - Venus The Flytrap probably has the best intro song of any game ever made link to the intro song (sadly a really mediocre game though). Otherwise I need me some more of Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge/Lotus Turbo Challenge 2/Lotus III - The Ultimate Challenge.

Speaking of Gremlin, I really miss Fatal Racing (aka Whiplash in the US). Never had I played a racing game like this, and probably never will again.

The original Rare team would be cool. Or the original Sonic team. The guys that made MGS 1-3, or the OG PS1 Resident Evil guys. Lots that I can think of. Perhaps the original Retro Studios?

A lot of the OG Rare crew did get back together to form Playtonic a few years ago.

But yeah, Rare nowadays is pretty much just a name, almost everyone behind their golden years is long gone.

When you say ”original” team do you mean the team that made games like R/C Pro Am, Wizards and Warriors, Cobra Triangle, Snake Rattle ’n Roll etc or are you thinking of the team that made SNES games?

Nope. I meant the DKC-Perfect Dark team. For some reason, I falsely identified that team as the original team lol.

Rare might as well be under defunct studios, and that's the one I would save because of it's amazing 80s to 2000s library.

This holds true for basically all older studios.

Very few of the original team is left or actively work on creating games. If old crew members are still with the studio they are usually at management positions and not very operative in the game creation.

I mean I miss Digital Illusions of the Pinball Dreams and Motorhead era. Not at all interested in anything they've made since BF 1942
