Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo accidentally reveals that NSW2 has sold 5m as of 30th of June.

Nintendo has revised its sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2 and has revealed that the system has now surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide, which is an impressive figure. Nintendo has revealed that the console sold the most amount of units in the Americas which led sales with approximately 1.8 million units sold. The Americas are followed by Japan with 1.47 million, Europe with 1.18 million, and other regions at 0.55 million units. For perspective the original Nintendo Switch console sold 2.74 million units during its first month on sale.

I visited the site, and clicked the links.... where does it show what they claim?
If you go to Nintendo's own site for the financial stuff.... I don't see anything Switch 2 related.

To be expected,great sales

Another record set. The previous was 4.5m by ps5 and ps4, which took two months to achieve, is there something in this space that has ever sold faster than Switch 2?, the answer is NOT.

Americas: 1.8 million units
Japan: 1.47 million units
Europe: 1.18 million units
Other: 550,000 units

I am with JRPGfan here: I cannot see any Switch2 numbers under the links from the article. Granted it says "accidentally revelas", so those numbers might have been there and have now been removed again already by Nintendo, but I would also not be surprised if mynintendonews just made this up. Time (and the skilled and trustworthy team from VGChartz) will tell.

We’ll get the official shipment data in about a month.

Friday August 1st.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

People will get tired of claiming its failing eventually, surely.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

1) Haters are gonna hate - you'll also find people still arguing against Switch 1 because it just can't reach the PS2 numbers

2) In this thread though nobody claimed Switch 2 fails; we just noted that we could not verify the source the article refers to.

Eh, it doesn't seem reliable, but it's probable given Switch 2 sold 3.5 million units in just 4 days.
