Forums - Nintendo - What dev/series are you most excited to see as far as what they can pull off on Switch 2, and why?

Monolithsoft and Square.
Hopefully Xenogears.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I mean it depends on what we mean y pushing the Switch 2 hardware.
We speaking of evolutive gameplay features à la BOTW, TOTK ? Or graphically speaking with an absurd amount of world building ambitions à la Monolith Soft ?

Honestly, what we're seeing from DK Bananza is honestly already a good showcase so far of what we should expect to see in the foreseeable future.

I like to see what Capcom is cooking. i expect a few of the Resident Evil games to get a real (non-online BS) release on the system. I also hope that a new game in the Ace Attorney series is around the corner as well. Will keep an eye on Platinum games as well, they usually support Nintendo's systems with a couple of original greats each generation.

The Zeldas. The thing I care most from Nintendo are The Zeldas.

StarFox. I really hope they are giving a nice treatment for the next title. Space exploration has a lot of potential

Monolith. Either Xenoblade or new IP. They know how to stretch Nintendo hardware like no one else.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Zelda and Xenoblade as those series have been among the pinnacle of each Nintendo platform they are on, the next Monster Hunter Portable game as Sunbreak was great and finally Astral Chain as it's one of the greatest action RPGs of all time despite having to cut back on the original vision of it and an equally good follow up without the compromises would put it as a great series.

I want to see some Real Time Strategy titles that make use of the mouse functionality.

StarCraft on Switch 2 anyone? It existed on the N64.

StarFox definitely deserves a new game this gen. I'd love to see it as a full space action-exploration game, but with sections that are on-rails - kinda in the way Mario Odyssey still had 2d sections inside walls, or Mario 3D World had shadow 2d sections, and those sections provide a great classic feel and change-up from most of the game, just the perfect amount of that classic feel you get to taste through the game.

Star Fox deserves the full space game treatment. The original was great at the time though obviously limited. SF64 was fun and a big step up thanks to N64's power but felt like just the first step in the series getting legit good - I remember it being fun but it was the first game I ever got in which I beat it the day I got it which was disappointing though of course there were multiple paths to play through, and while the multiplayer battles were cool they were just pretty much flat empty maps you're flying over so still extremely basic 3d gameplay compared to what the series could be. Sadly after that they ventured into platforming instead of focusing on just expanding and improving it as a shooter. Star Fox should be one of the premier space shooters in gaming, instead it's been relegated to having two successful early 3d versions in the 90's that pretty much just are proof of concept, and nothing of high quality once 3d games started getting big and advanced, and at this point just wondering if they'll ever bring the series back.

Either/both! Whatever can be done now that couldn't be done on Switch 1, both in graphics or gameplay/physics/etc.
