Forums - Sales - Famitsu Sales: Week 22, 2025 (May 26 - Jun 01)

There's a lot of new SKU's in the top 30 this week. I can imagine all of these games had an absolute deadline of releasing before the Switch 2 and they just barely made it, lol,

Ok this one made me curious, cause I never heard about it:

30./17. [NSW] The Battle Cats Unite! (Ponos) {2020.12.03} (¥2.200) - 1.142 / 341.231 <80-100%> (-10%)

Looking it up on the E-shop it says:

"Based off of the hit mobile game The Battle Cats, downloaded over 90 million times worldwide! Now available on Nintendo Switch™ with all-new features!"

90 million downloads on mobile?! Dam!

The funny part is that this game released all the way back in 2020 and even though it almost never ranks above 20 (and sometimes goes months without ranking at all), it still managed a remarkably consistent sales pace over the years. Definitely one of the more hidden evergreens in JP.

I actually used to play The Battle Cats on my iPod Touch. Back when I was in 3rd/4th grade. I remember enjoying the game a decent amount. I’m a little shocked it didn’t move more than 90mil downloads...I thought that was a pretty big game back in 2012/2013?

Steam Hearts and Advanced Variable Geo managed to chart after all. 13th place and 2.7k is not bad.

We can't know for sure, but I suspect it had good digital sales. In Steam it probably sold some units too. I know it's almost impossible, but I would be very happy if it could chart again next week.

If the PS5 drops back to the numbers it had the two weeks prior, then pretty sure yes.

And even without it, I think it will still make it.

Well the Days of Play sale goes until June 11th so we'll see how that goes.

Will they have another big release next week? Because without one, I don't think it will stay far above 10k

So Next week is the launch of the Switch 2.

I think it will be the biggest launch ever beating the PS2.

How big was the PS2 launch in Japan?

It was a bit more than 600k

My guess for next Famitsu week for Switch 2 opening to be 915350 units. That’s my guess no takesy backsy. That’s my final answer.

Im more curious to see the software sales charts than hardware sales chart. I'm curios to see how many games and Switch 2 version will be sold
