Mafia: The Old Country releases on the 8th of August and 2k have revealed that it will be priced at $50. They have also revealed it is a "focused, linear" experience.

"We think there's a large audience for compelling stories that don't require massive time commitments," said 2K president David Ismailer. "We're excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear highly-polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis."

So unlike Mafia 3 it seems this will not be an open world title. Hopefully they deliver a great product at a lower price of $50 that is more than worth the price of entry.

Give me a 10hr highly polished linear Mafia experience for £45 any day over another open world slop fest for £70.

I might be in, provided it's high quality. I'd be far more likely to buy this day one at 50 than a 79,99 game which is zero chance.
