Huh. Paul Rudd finally aged.

Seriously, though, this is an awesome commercial for the Switch 2. I wish it was called the Super Nintendo Switch, but I understand why they didn't go with that name.

haha literally my first thought when watching it was exactly that: Paul Rudd is finally aging!
And yeah great throwback to that SNES commercial.

That's funny. Shame Tony Jay is not with us as I'd love him in that ad.

I didn't really remember the 1st commercial, to me this was mostly just cringe.
But I can respect the effort, even if the two are very different, and they even spend time explaining it in full.
I watched the SNES one last night not realising what Nintendo were doing and then watched the Switch 2 advert, didn't clock they got the same guy to do it until I read the comments on the Switch 2 video. They were both silly adverts but I thought it was really cool that they tried to recreate what 90s adverts were like and mostly succeeded. If only they called it the Super Switch!

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Agreed. The odds would be against him though because even if he was still alive that would mean he'd be about 92.
The OG commercial is such a banger combination: Nintendo, Paul Rudd, and Tony Jay.
This is cool marketing from Nintendo. Nothing is too big to fail or disappoint but I doubt Switch 2 can fail when there is marketing like this that is far better than Wii U.

Nin - Ok, we get it, Wii U wasn't a great name even if the marketing had been done well. Don't worry, we're gunna call it Switch 2, its all good!
Gamers - They should've called it Super Switch...
Kinda found the ad cringe, but if Nin had called it Super Switch, it would've fit the ad sooo much better that it would've been more funny.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
I didn't even recognize Paul Rudd in the earlier commercial. The secret to him not aging is that you don't recognize him when he's young. That commercial was made before Mario Kart even existed.
Now I wonder if Atari will bring back Pitfall and do the same thing.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
