Forums - Sales - Devolver Digital says Switch was their strongest console for game sales, sold over 9 million on it

In its latest financial report, Devolver revealed that they sold more software on Switch than any other console, with over 9 million copies sold.

The publisher's games on the system include The Plucky Squire, Cult of the Lamb, Neva, Gris, Enter the Gungeon, and Death's Door.

The also cite Switch 2 as a notable opportunity for them, and have already announced multiple titles for Nintendo's upcoming system.

They've published some exceptional games, both indie and, arguably, A Tier.

If SteamSpy is to be believed, there are ~69 million copies of their games on Steam, so 9+ million on Switch alone is quite good.

I would bet they have at least 1 million seller on the Switch.  Their financial report doesn't break down sales by platform, but it looks like Cult of the Lamb and Astroneer are their biggest titles overall, which is surprising.  I would have guessed Enter the Gungeon or Hotline Miami was their top game, but the former two games blow these away in terms of total revenue.

Good for them and good for Switch gamers that enjoy their titles =)

Cult of the Lamb was one of the bigger Indie hit on the platform for a long time. It's likely the biggest seller they had. The Switch 2 power profile will just make it easier to port whatever they want to it.

It is nice to see them find success on Switch; well deserved I would say. They seem to be all in on Switch 2 with the likes of Astroneer 2 and Enter the Gungeon 2 already showcased for it in the April 2nd Direct.

Since about half of Switch software sold was third party, this would mean Devolver account for more than 1% of that, which is not bad at all for a small publisher.

So, port Metal Wolf Chaos over!

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Hm...looking at the report, I thought Talos is bigger sales wise, given that it's their highest scoring IP.

I also thought Death's Door is bigger, but lack of any mention got me checking - apparently, some 600-700K copies sold for ~$7 million revenue on Steam.

Death’s Door had one of those Xbox deals where it launched day one on Game Pass and didn’t get ported to PS and Switch until later.

Cult of the Lamb grossing over $90 million (it's sold over 4.5 million as of late last year) and Enter the Gungeon selling over 5 million are both higher than I expected and quite impressive. (Granted, that's across all platforms, but still)
