You clearly don't understand how expensive things are relative to our purchasing power. Consoles and games are made with first world workforce and are monetized as such. Yes, time is more valuable than money. I'm talking about an entire month of worktime just to buy a console!

Imagine if instead of paying 450 USD you have you spend all your paycheck to buy a console. Then, on top of that, you need to buy games. At insane prices, you don't have much choice but to get maybe 1 or 2 games a year for full price, at best. In this scenario what's the issue of waiting 2 years? It's not like I'll be buying new games every month anyway 

Well I did start with "...if you have the money..." but obviously I could've elaborated on that more.

If you only get 1-2 games a year then maybe it's better to wait a couple years if it really stretches your budget. Of course if Mario Kart is the game you want to play there's no guarantee that SKU will stick around forever, so the price discount may not be as great if you have to buy it separately.

If you buy so few games anyway, your point about there being more available is also moot.

You should never buy at the start of a generation simply for the sack of experiencing it, unless you have money to throw around. If you want to jump in specifically because of Mario Kart and have enough money, then there's really no point waiting.

Well the context was a Brazillian concerned with prices, so pricing being an issue was a given to the discussion

The point is waiting and expecting more games coming is simply a matter of having more options to choose, and maybe a few disccounts. Physical games can become less expensive over time too. I just found a retailer selling Zelda TOTK for 280 BRL physical, I bought physical for 400 BRL at launch

This is more common (and more expressive) for Playstation though, because more retailers sells PS5 games compared to Switch games, so they try to make their prices competitive, but it's true for Switch games as well

I am surprised by how many people feel the need to commenting on a Switch 2 thread and they claim they will never get it or ever played Nintendo.... or some have 15+ year game backlog... WOW...

You can always count on a Nintendo console reveal for the usual suspects to strike. Mods are too dumb to detect it and are complicit. Even Rol is on their side. But he's an idiot anyway so I'm not surprised.
