What kind of remake do we want from FF9? Rumors say it is not to the extent of FF7 Of course, but is much more ambitious than SE's PS1 remasters.

One game that is a pretty faithful remake. More changes than say the Paper Mario TTYD Remake, but not a reimagining trilogy like FFVII. That's too expensive, unsustainable, and will take too long.

It will be absolutely wild if the FFIX remake comes out before FFVII Part III, but it's looking that way right now since it could come out this year or in 2026. Q1 2027 seems like the earliest FFVII Part III will come out and it could take until Holiday 2027.

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Somewhere between Trials of Mana remake and an original game like Bravely Default II.

@OT - I'm so excited, this will be a day 1 purchase since FF9 is my favorite 3D Final Fantasy (and second most favorite overall).

Can't see them doing a 3 parts remake for this one as well.
But would love to see it what they can make, as FF9 is by far the best FF from the PS1.

Just mostly a visual overhaul i hope. maybe they can improve the combat speed. doesn't need to be a completely new game like FF7R.

FFIX is the best in the series and I adore it. I do want a remake but I don;t want a FF7R and I don't want HD 2D. Basically the same game with visual uplift and some QOL changes. The card game fixed. Non active party members level up with active ones. Things like that. Oh and fix the stealth section with Cid.

My favorite Final Fantasy game of all time. I just love everything about it, and was really fun playing coop to share the experience.

I'd be happy with any form remake as long as it's still feels true to the game. If they just simply kept it exactly the same but with updated graphics I'd totally be fine with that.

I just ask they bring back the co-op feature from the original that they took away from the remastered.
….and don't make another stupid trophy/achievement of 1000 jump ropes in a row T_T

It wont be like FFVII Remake trilogy because FFIX remake will be an actual remake, not a sequel.
