I wonder if they'll do another re-release of the Xenoblade titles for the Switch 2. I don't want Nintendo to just re-release the same years for every console, now that they are BC. Maybe a performance patch for the Switch version?

Hopefully performance patch, wouldnt make sense to re-release the same game on a system that has b/c for those same games.

Edit: Unless it was a remake and not a remaster.

It sure doesn't make sense but it didn't stop Sony from remastering theirs and selling them again on the PS5.

Also if we're frank, both Xenoblade remakesters came about 8-10 years after the original release. It wouldn't be that far-fetched if we got a Definitive Edition of XC2 after their next original game like in 2027 or beyond.

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Last of Us Part 1 and 2.

If its radically different in terms of engine, visuals, physics - then I dont see an issue with it (as much as I would want a new game instead).

To add, one aspects that make these DE a good sell are the additional content we get. That's technically beyond the scale of the usual remaster most games would get.

Oh I see.

Thats good to hear there's a lot of work put into this remaster.

Here's hoping Switch 2 will bring in performance boosts.

Edit: I'm glad the character models were changed because I hated how the characters looked like on the WiiU version.

Pretty sure someone found hidden in the code for X a 60FPS mode locked out for Switch. So probably a patch for Switch 2.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Still have my WiiU copy and accidentally (Literally) bought two copies of Xenoblade Chronicles X for Switch.

I forgot I pre-ordered and bought the game online months ago... And so I went down to the games store, picked up a copy on release day... Then to my shock had the other copy rock up on my doorstep the next day.

I like the games, but subconsciously more than I thought.

Being able to compare the games in real time, the Youtube comparison Digital Foundry put up doesn't really do the jump justice.
It is probably one of the best WiiU to Switch ports we have had... It's more than just an up-res.

The only niggle I have is still the pop-in from objects and characters, but that's an engine limitation not a Switch limitation.

Glad this game gets renewed attention, really deserves it! The world is gorgeous, story and gameplay mechs are just decent.

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Yeah if this is the last Wii U to Switch port (I'm not entirely convinced of that, still expect Woolly World may come) then they've ended on a strong note that shows the upgrade from Wii U to Switch, which while not generational is still enough to be significant.

I would go so far as to say this is the best looking Xenoblade, as while 2 and 3 use more modern effects and techniques, their image quality and environment design isn't as attractive.

Paper Mario Color Splash please :(

I'll take Woolly World too with the 3DS enhancements.

I wouldn't mind seeing StarFox ported over... If they ditched the motion control it would actually turn it into a great game.

But with Switch now in it's twilight years and it's successor releasing in mere months, I think this will be the last swansong of WiiU to Switch conversions, Switch 2.0 might get some new ports though.

I never played any title of the series. Is this a good game to get started with it?
