Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Direct set for March 27, 2025

After nothing in February I didn't expect this at all but after going so long without a direct having two so close together is nice. Though I do think I would've preferred if stuff like Metroid Prime 4 had a notable presence in the direct next week to make that one as meaty as possible after such a big gap instead of splitting things up like this. My expectations for this are low but it'll hopefully be a decent send off to the Switch before the main course next week.

Guess they really wanna pass the PS2 haha

I'm mostly expecting some ports/remakes, indie games, and maybe some more info on Professor Layton and Fantasy Life.

Really this is the last chance for HD Zelda ports and Metroid Prime 2 and 3 on Switch.

I'd love to see the rumored Kirby Planet Robobot HD.

And two personal hopes of mine that seem less likely are a Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War remake and F-Zero GX remaster with online play.

So that was basically what I expected. It didn't exceed expectations by a lot like the June direct but for a final direct for the Switch that was decent enough with two new Nintendo games announced for next year. The third Somnium Files was nice to see as well and in general I get why they did this cause most of the things shown would've been heavily overshadowed if in the direct next week. A nice enough snack before the proper meal next week.

A remake of one of my favorite games of all time has been announced

i’d call it more of an appetizer. (Though Tomodachi Life, DQ1+2, and Rhythm Heaven is quite a heavy appetizer lol.)

This actually was a pretty good Direct when you consider we are getting another one next week.  Games that I like:

DQ 1&2
Patapon 1&2
Eternal Life of Goldman (gives Cuphead vibes)
Gradius Origins
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Marvel Cosmic Invasion

My daughter's favorite 3DS game was Tomodachi Life, so she finally got the sequel she'd been waiting many years for.  Between this, MP4 and Pokemon ZA, it looks like the regular Switch still has a lot to offer even after the Switch 2's launch.

You should really check out Rhythm Heaven if you havent. They are so charming and incredibly fun. Hopefully they will have a demo for people to try it.

They literally took away the only benefit of digital games, convenience. Why would I want to have to load and eject freaking digital games and move between both systems instead of simply having access to all my digital games instantly?

The game icons as cartdriges are the only cool thing, but this is beyond ridiculous, wtf.
