Overall, it's a good direct, but I feel like they’re "saving" their first-party pipeline. Donkey Kong Odyssey I mean, Donkey Kong Bonanza, seems like it's meant to replace a mainline 3D Mario. Having a sequel to a very obscure Kirby racer from the GameCube era isn't exactly groundbreaking either, much less so a second party Hyurele Warriors game

So far, nothing has been confirmed for Christmas either

I can only guess that Nintendo is confident the increase in power, third-party support (Elden Ring, Borderlands 4, Cyberpunk, and Civ VII are HUGE games), and upgraded versions of older games will be enough to keep the Switch 2 selling until next year

This way, they can "save" their first-party bangers for 2026 and 2027. Successful consoles tend to peak after their third year anyway.

I like that they focused on "lesser" titles. It shows that they are willing to experiment and not just rely on their big titles.

I’m not too sure Nintendo’s using DK in place of Mario, as they still have yet to reveal anything launching past July. My guess is they’re saving 3D Mario’s reveal for Summer? Though not too sure…I’m really shocked they didn’t give us it in this presentation.

Yeah no prices for the console, games or even upgrade packs is a bummer

Maybe they will announce in their Switch 2 website they promised to open today?

So that FromSoftware title DuskBloods will be a Switch 2 exclusive

God, a whole new set of PC gamers crying about how So... I mean Nintendo are holding a game to ransom, ignoring the fact it might be the case that this game is Nintendo owned?

Anyway, all caught up, the Donkey Kong game looks superb.

Hmm, pie.

Honestly, with MP4 capable of hitting 120fps, and 4k support being implemented, I’m blown away it’s only sitting at $450. Seems like Nintendo isn’t playing around with specs this time around.

Thats 450 and 500 daamn

2/3 of the first-party line-up being mascot racing games was not what I was expecting. Very good move to make Mario Kart a pack-in, but it looks like they're counting on Mario Kart and the strength of the Switch brand and nothing else to carry Switch 2 through the launch period. Kirby Air Ride is great, but when only 3 new first-part games were announced, 2 of them being mascot racers looks very odd. And Donkey Kong Bananza looks really good, but it will not have the same appeal as a 3d Mario or a Smash Bros. game.
