Overall, it's a good direct, but I feel like they’re "saving" their first-party pipeline. Donkey Kong Odyssey I mean, Donkey Kong Bonanza, seems like it's meant to replace a mainline 3D Mario. Having a sequel to a very obscure Kirby racer from the GameCube era isn't exactly groundbreaking either, much less so a second party Hyurele Warriors game
So far, nothing has been confirmed for Christmas either
I can only guess that Nintendo is confident the increase in power, third-party support (Elden Ring, Borderlands 4, Cyberpunk, and Civ VII are HUGE games), and upgraded versions of older games will be enough to keep the Switch 2 selling until next year
This way, they can "save" their first-party bangers for 2026 and 2027. Successful consoles tend to peak after their third year anyway.
