Overall, it's a good direct, but I feel like they’re "saving" their first-party pipeline. Donkey Kong Odyssey I mean, Donkey Kong Bonanza, seems like it's meant to replace a mainline 3D Mario. Having a sequel to a very obscure Kirby racer from the GameCube era isn't exactly groundbreaking either, much less so a second party Hyurele Warriors game

So far, nothing has been confirmed for Christmas either

I can only guess that Nintendo is confident the increase in power, third-party support (Elden Ring, Borderlands 4, Cyberpunk, and Civ VII are HUGE games), and upgraded versions of older games will be enough to keep the Switch 2 selling until next year

This way, they can "save" their first-party bangers for 2026 and 2027. Successful consoles tend to peak after their third year anyway.

I’m not too sure Nintendo’s using DK in place of Mario, as they still have yet to reveal anything launching past July. My guess is they’re saving 3D Mario’s reveal for Summer? Though not too sure…I’m really shocked they didn’t give us it in this presentation.
