Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch owners; what games do you still plan to get?

Just Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for now. The Switch 2 Direct will be right after so I won't make any plans beyond that yet.

Same. I'm not getting Xenoblade Chronicles X DE at launch though. If it's revealed that it will be boosted on Switch 2, I can wait to play it until I get Switch 2.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Can't blame you. When I began another playthrough on WiiU a few years back I was hoping it would be a Switch 2 launch title. The raw world design was still incredible, but it's awe-effect this time was held back by the outdated lighting or maybe the colour balance. I was playing it on a newer tv.

If they could just up the resolution a bit and maybe implement something like Xbox's Auto-HDR feature, that would work wonders I reckon.

I'm still picking up Metroid Prime 4 and Sonic Racing Crossworlds; also while not a standalone game, the Elder Veil expansion for Prodeus.

The ol' Switch has served me well, and whichever of the above comes out last will probably be its swan song for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if games continue to hit Switch 1 well after the release of its successor, as it will takes years for most of the userbase to upgrade or move on.

I'm hoping beyond hope it's boosted on Switch 2 even if it's something as simple as locked 720p30fps as an option, and maybe some improved shadows, draw distance, etc.

With an open-world game that was a showcase for Wii U, it seems unjust if we're stuck with Switch graphics as the pinnacle for the DE when Switch isn't even a full generational leap ahead of Wii U in technical capabilities.

The only logic I see releasing X so late in Switch's life is for the game's 10th anniversary and maybe a boosted performance on Switch 2 which is launching this year.

For Metroid fans, Prime 4 really should be boosted if not a cross-gen game.

But as I've said other times on this website, Switch 2 really needs to take a page out of Xbox and PlayStation's playbook and support boosting of backwards compatible titles. The Nintendo games I care about most, but some of the third-party games could look a lot better boosted on Switch 2. The Witcher 3 on the go with graphics on par (or close enough) with its PS4 version would be awesome.

And circling back more directly to the topic at hand, I think I'd pick up a Rhythm Heaven game if we get one on Switch. It doesn't even need a Switch 2 version, unless it uses mouse-like functions that Switch 2 JoyCons are all but confirmed to have.

I still want to buy some older titles like DKCTF and NSMBUD. For the ones that are still waiting to be released, Legends ZA is my pick, although I'm not so excited to play it

I generally don’t plan on what games I’m buying in advance. In fact, Suikoden and Xenoblade Chronicles X are the first ones in a couple of years, probably since Victoria 3.

Today I bought the Suikoden games, and I’ll also probably get Lunar.

So:
Suikoden 1&2 (bought today)
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Lunar SSS & EB remaster.

But, I’ll probably get others.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

If Metroid Prime 4 comes out before Switch 2 then that.

Not that many new ones for now, only Xenoblade X and Gal Guardians 2 (and maybe Digimon Time Stranger, but that's probably a Switch 2 game), right now I'm waiting for the Nintendo Selects to catch up with the games I've missed.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

I still have about 10 already released Switch games that I still intend to purchase. I won't get the Switch 2 until a few years down the line.

I do not think that there are any unreleased games that I will pick up for the system. But there are a ew games that I keep an eye on sales on.
Another Code recollection and Metroid Dread are on my radar. Metroid Prime 4 will be skipped since I never finished the first Prime game and never played 2 or 3. Strangely my favorite game in the Prime-series is a game many argue is not really part of the franchise, Metroid Prime Pinball.

Edit: If a Lets Go Gold/Silver version releases I will buy that instantly.
