Same. I'm not getting Xenoblade Chronicles X DE at launch though. If it's revealed that it will be boosted on Switch 2, I can wait to play it until I get Switch 2. |
Can't blame you. When I began another playthrough on WiiU a few years back I was hoping it would be a Switch 2 launch title. The raw world design was still incredible, but it's awe-effect this time was held back by the outdated lighting or maybe the colour balance. I was playing it on a newer tv. If they could just up the resolution a bit and maybe implement something like Xbox's Auto-HDR feature, that would work wonders I reckon. |
I'm hoping beyond hope it's boosted on Switch 2 even if it's something as simple as locked 720p30fps as an option, and maybe some improved shadows, draw distance, etc.
With an open-world game that was a showcase for Wii U, it seems unjust if we're stuck with Switch graphics as the pinnacle for the DE when Switch isn't even a full generational leap ahead of Wii U in technical capabilities.
The only logic I see releasing X so late in Switch's life is for the game's 10th anniversary and maybe a boosted performance on Switch 2 which is launching this year.
For Metroid fans, Prime 4 really should be boosted if not a cross-gen game.
But as I've said other times on this website, Switch 2 really needs to take a page out of Xbox and PlayStation's playbook and support boosting of backwards compatible titles. The Nintendo games I care about most, but some of the third-party games could look a lot better boosted on Switch 2. The Witcher 3 on the go with graphics on par (or close enough) with its PS4 version would be awesome.
And circling back more directly to the topic at hand, I think I'd pick up a Rhythm Heaven game if we get one on Switch. It doesn't even need a Switch 2 version, unless it uses mouse-like functions that Switch 2 JoyCons are all but confirmed to have.
