Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Which switch version would you prefer launch?

Preferred switch to model

Lite 299.99 1 3.85%

Base 399.99 13 50.00%

OLED 499.99 12 46.15%

Total:26

It's clear at this point that Nintendo will launch a "base model" LED switch for 399.99 USD at launch, and that it will be the only model at launch. However from your view as a consumer, which model would you like to see released at launch assuming it will be the only model for a 2-year window before the others release?

I think it's a safe bet that these will be the prices of each model:

Lite 299.99

Base 399.99

OLED 499.99

Lifetime Sales Prediction - 6/29/2013

“Which switch version would you prefer lunch?” what lol

OLED would be pretty crazy to cost $100 more unless it comes with more storage or a Pro Controller.
Standard is the best, unless the most expensive one came with a Pro Controller.

If they release a lite and an OLED model it’ll never cost that much.

Well, 300 USD for something I don't want excludes that.
But I'm expecting 480 to 530 USD for the Switch 2, so 400 USD is a bit of a steal.
However, I'd feel robbed paying an extra 100 dollars for an optional trivial screen upgrade with my current budget.

Answer: the middle one. 400 USD for a base Switch.

To elaborate a little - it's not the 500 USD, but the +100 USD I take issue with when the 400 USD model is sufficient. if I had the budget, I'd get the OLED one for 100 USD more, but I don't. If I got that, I'd be taking it out of the games I'll be purchasing this year.

OLED for sure.

Loving my OLED Switch and using my OG Switch for docked only purposes.

If I ever upgrade a system I do not want it to be a downgrade in any significant aspect. Buying a Switch 2 with an LCD screen is not an option for me after i got used to the OLED screen on the first switch.

I play my Switch 1 only as a console so I don't care what screen it comes with. I don't see me using the Switch 2 any differently. A Switch 2 TV (straight console) would be my actual preference and I hope we see that this gen. I'd give up my launch Switch 2 to the kids and buy a Switch 2 TV to replace it.

As long as it supports physical games i don't mind. But if you ask me: OLED for me! Better would be a Samsung QLED screen! I wonder when we will see the first handheld with QLED...

OLED, but for $449 not $499 lol
