Forums - Sony Discussion - Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet trailer is getting "mixed" reactions on Youtube

What do you think of the Intergalactic trailer?

Wait ... isn't the voice on the monitor Numi the vtuber?  Huh.

Honestly, my reaction to anything Naughty Dog is apathy.  They're going to have to make me care.  Main character instantly makes me think of a female Rock/Vin Diesel, which is immediately unappealing.  We have years for them to change my mind, though.

I like what I see so far. I trust Naughty Dog enough with the process. The main character looks like what I’d expect her to look like given the little bit of story we have seen so far. I just need more than just a teaser.

The trailer didn't particularly impress me, but it's probably going to be good because it's Naughty Dog. Also, it wasn't exactly a soulless trailer either, even though it didn't show enough to get me interested either - besides Naughty Dog, of course.

The sale numbers will determine its success. Obvious I know.

I think people are just having knee-jerk reactions about it and refuse to actually analyze anything because it's become a cool thing to hate Naughty Dog.

It's pretty much this. Same thing is happening with the Witcher 4. I bet when the new rumoured GoW spinoff with Atreus is announced the same thing will happen.

It all means nothing at the end of the day: if either of these games have the same quality you expect from their studios the games are going to review and sell well.

That said, I think the trailer is great as an announcement. I think this will incorporate some Souls-narrative style into it; it's something the team has talked about exploring. I look forward to seeing how ND can merge that with their own story-telling style.

It's Naughty Dog so I automatically don't like it. It's Nier Drunkman so I double don't like it.

We didn't see the actual gameplay, but I'm guessing the game is going to be up your alley combat wise if it's what I think it is.

I don't think it was a very good trailer.

I guessed it was a Naughty Dog game, between assuming that they'd be there, the high quality of the visuals, and the general setup. Naughty Dog has had trailers where they loved showing you what's on some random person's desk, and showing a quote to start off the game.

But there wasn't any emotional impact to the trailer, there wasn't any gameplay to get excited about. It just felt like they very directly took a 3 minute cut scene from the early part of the game and called it a day.

Horizon 2's reveal trailer was not as well done as the first. God of War Ragnarök's reveal trailer wasn't as good as God of War 2018's trailer. Even though I loved the games as much as the originals, the trailers just weren't anywhere as good. And I feel like it'll probably be the same here. I'm sure the game will be great, even if the trailer didn't hit any notes for me.

It just looks like another AAA game set in space. Ill give it the benefit of the doubt since its Naughty Dog, but I need to see more.

Looks cool. Laser sword game play I take it? Will probably sell a ton.
