Idk how someone manages 10 hours of gaming per day. Even if you had zero else going on, that's a wild feat but many posting on twitter have 3000+ hours. I don't think I'd like gaming if I did that, I' do get into weekend sessions where I do long stretches but doing that every day is unthinkable, it would make you very ill.

I didn't even manage with FS2020 during lock downs

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/exploring-the-world-in-the-beechcraft-bonanza/266981

322 days, 323 legs (crossed the date line) Total flight time 2,590 hours, 8 hours a day on avg.
And a lot of that was on autopilot. Adding the time to update that blog would get it close to 10h per day, but I did most of that while flying on autopilot, multi tasking.

During my Everquest years I could easily exceed 10h a day in the weekend but during the week most I could manage is 8 pm till 3 am.

I spend too much time behind a PC screen in my late 20s, 8-10 hours at work, 5-7 hours at home, still paying the price for that, neck issues. Basically get up, go to work, McD for lunch, eat on the way home (BK) or order Pizza / TV dinner, play until late at night. How did I not die lol.

I probably have around 3000 across all platforms including retro consoles. It helps to be an insomniac lol. I only sleep like 4-5 hours every day. Just been like that my entire life. Up all night. Go to sleep about 6am. wake up 10-11 am.

How are you still alive with that much sleep? My immune system collapses if I get under 7 hours consistenly for a couple of weeks lol

I didn't do much with the console. My most-played game is Borderlands 3. But I didn't even play that one. My wife's brother visited us for some days and I gave him my PS5 while he stayed here. Apparently he played quite a lot of Borderlands 3 and used my account for it for some reason. But whatever. As for me, I played through Spider-Man, Miles Morales and WWE 2K24. That's about it. I would like to use the PS5 more, but there are just no games I am interested in apart from indie titles. But I prefer to play those on Steam or Switch.

Not sure how to add the image, but I spent 800 hours in 2024 on mostly 9 games.

I have no idea. I have survived so many things that should have killed me 1000 times by now. I also rarely get sick. Not had COVID yet and not been sick in 5 years lol. Not had the stomach flu since 2012.

Wow that's insane. I get like 5 colds a year.

If you don't have any kids yet, I would probably advise against having them then lol. Sleep is the last thing you'll be getting for several years! Not necessarily because you'll be unable to get them on a sleep schedule after the first month, but because of dozens of sleep regressions they have during early childhood that's just a natural part of a child's brain development.

I though I was a hardcore gamer this past year, turns out I'm not and the hardcore are like close to 3k hours and some exceed it. Everyone seems to be hovering around the same level I am. My own count is 1200 hours which three hours a day and some change. I'll never get close to those people doing 8+ hours a day unless I become bed ridden from an injury or something but I should be able to increase these numbers somewhat next year. Gonna really try and manage my time better next year and I should be able to get around 2000 hours. But I suppose it's what I done with the time that counts, managed to complete 24 games up from 5 or 6 last year. And that accounts for 900 of my hours and got lucky with many games that I ended up loving enough to finish but damn, did I fall off a lot of games. I suppose the high count is because of trying out stuff on PS+ Catalogue at a whim.

y'all, how on earth do you have this time? I only put in like 450hr this year across my entire catalogue, and that's even with me playing games when I should've been working. The most I've ever done in a single year is >800hr (2023) (and that was due to taking a big chunk of May/June off to play Zelda TotK (for >12hr/day)).

If you can't make 2 - 3 hours a day for yourself, the barrel of a gun starts to seem tempting, no?

My avg comes to a bit over 2.1 hours a day.
Summer half of the year it was less 0.9 hours avg a day, winter months 3.3 hours avg a day.

It's part insomnia while my wife goes to bed early. I join later at night. While in winter I have the weekends to play as well. During the dark winter months my wife and I often play co-op games together.

There's a lot you can do when you only sleep 4-5 hours a night, yet in winter it means your 'day' is mostly dark. VR fixes that :)
I'm more surprised my avg dipped below an hour a day last summer.

12hr a day I can't do anymore, even if I have the time! I can't sit still for that long lol. TotK took me 4 months.
