I'm glad this failed, now we should get a Mass Effect with a studio worthy of it or no mass effect at all, cause that is better than this team bothering it.

BioWare hasn't made a great Mass Effect game in almost 15 years. I doubt the company's even capable of making a worthy entry now, especially with the general decline in writing quality.

Yeah, like what I had to admit to myself about Blizzard, the BioWare that I grew up with and loved is long gone.

Yeah but if EA are on the ball, this team will be replaced. Or they might scope some talent and shake things up, especially the writers and gamers are being very loud on that front but like I said, Mass effect being dead is better than a Mass Effect from this current team.

Take this game and compare it to Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a technical mess at launch, DA:V seems pretty good in that department.

Cyberpunk 2077 has an interesting character creator with controversially full frontal, DA:V doesn't.

Cyberpunk 2077 action gunplay isn't anything special, DA:V action swordplay isn't anything special either.

I think it comes down to writing. Cyberpunk 2077 is a much more inspiring game. DA:V is just boring.

Art direction I think is also a good comparison. CP2077 is just insanely cool to look at and futuristic. DA:V has way too clean, almost Pixar-inspired look to it. Which is so far off from the more dark and gritty look of prior games and was an immediate turn off for me initially.

Veilguard was suppose to be Bioware's turning point,

It's all going down ever since and it still is,
Bioware isn't biowaring anymore R.I.P

Because of forced dei and wokeness is the main cause and why lots of games are going to fail none of us want it

"People keep saying the issue with Veilguard is it being too woke.  But how can that be true when it puts me to sleep?!?!  (It's boring)"

I mean the past few games were a remaster, Anthem, Mass Effect Andromeda, a cancelled online game.

Their last successful game, Dragon Age Inquisition, was a decade ago/5 games ago.

I think it's hard to argue that this is them going downhill. It's a very solid turning point, take the right lessons to the next Mass Effect game.

Some of the writers left Bioware but now also the director announced she is leaving Bioware, their is also a leaked email that the Edminton studio would close down it could be false but that email also leaked that she would leave the studio...

If this is a "return to form", I dread to see what a failure looks like in their books. I'm always sad to see potential studio closures, but on the other hand; it seems obvious that all the talent and heart left Bioware ages ago (yes, that's very much a high-class pun).
