I'll give it another try at some point, I always fish things out from the library to try them again. Maybe it'll click when that day comes. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just finished with the Terminator: Resistance Enhanced DLC. A game a would highly recommend, I only got it in the sale coz I felt like an FPS but left pleasantly surprised.

I wanted to play PS2 like games on PS5. PS2 LIKE games. So I did a 3rd playthrough of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. Finished Ratchet and Clank 2016. Now replaying missions of a game I finished last year. Destroy all Humans 2 Reprobed.

Meh. Even if it's only fart vapors when I see anything that reminds me of Souls. I'm out. I replayed Visions of Mana for a PS2 like RPG tho.
Wu Long: Fallen Dynasty.
+ I actually really like its morale system; the levels have a set number of minor/major flags with the major being checkpoints. Planting minor flags restores health, planing major restores health and healing items. It really lets you explore the map without having to rest letting enemies respawn. Everytime you plant a flag it raises your base morale up to a 20, getting hit lowers it (can’t go lower than base) and getttng killed lowers it it straight back to the base level. It acts like a plus/minus system compared to an enemies morale level, the higher the better and vice versa. It really encourages exploration.
- Unfortunately tho, much like Rise of the Rōnin it’s hard to even tell what system it was originally designed for as graphically it looks … bad but at least RotR was a significantly better game. The games balancing is all over the place too, easiest game in the genre (with a very decent deflect system) but then has some massive spikes that make you wonder what they where trying to do here. I guess it’s trying to make you use the reinforcement system which is a NPC co-op system.
It’s a ok game so far, doesn’t come close to RotR and it’s not even worth having in the same discussion with masterpieces like Nioh 2. I’ll 100% it like I do most things I play but I can’t say if it’ll be remembered after I do. I don’t think it’s going to stay with me after completion like truly great games I’ve played lately like Stellar Blade.

The difficulty fluctuations is based on which weapon you choose and especially if it's a weapon from the DLC the two which are not bqlqmced for the base game and I think TN should stop allowing their DLC weapons in the base versions unless they weaken them. The whip weapon can trivialise levels that were legit hard with more close encounter weapons and close encounter weapons can trivialize some bosses that are difficult with the whip weapon so it gets hard cause your build never is right for every situation or enemy moveset. I beat bosses I was having a difficult with in that game just by changing the build and weapon with ease.
I think this is a "flaw" that all team Ninja Games have (I haven't played Ronin yet) because they choose to go so wide and varied in weapon builds and adding so much on top like with builds like in Nioh 2 which can give such drastically different ecperiences it's practically a different game you're playing. Sekiro keeps difficulty balance by keeping things as simple and limited as possible, a game which this is trying to imitate and Stellar Blade does it by keeping most powerful skill unlocks until late game like burst attacks and the limit break. Frankly I thought the game was an absolute ball of fun and one of the most fun platinums I done last year, second to Stellar Blade but I do agree, when rating it the number doesn't reflect the fun factor which is a ten, this is a very high 7, barely scraping an 8 type of game that would be higher if only for polish and quality over quantity. That said, I wouldn't change a thing cause we need more games like that that give loads of choice and are simple video game fun even if it mean some jank.

Agree with most things. That said Wolong was hilarious difficulty fluctuations. I generally don't like deflect things, but with certain bosses you had to master it. So I went from dying with no potions left to completely dominating the boss with all of my potions, it just didn't feel right. Also some bosses were cheesed by my unique magic build at the time.
Overall an enjoyable game but ROTR was more fun and Nioh 2 is indeed a masterpiece.
I love how well Team Ninja is doing last several years. From new IPs to Stranger in Paradise, it was great and we are getting a new Ninja Gaiden and got a remake. Team Ninja is fully back and better than ever tbh. With Platinum games (tho yes, they are making NG4) having questions around them with the mass exodus and Itsuno leaving Capcom leaving DMC6's future in question. It's nice to know one Japan action game studio is thriving. I hope NG4 turns out amazing. I am so looking forward to it—rumors of Clovers partnering with Capcom to remake DMC1 and I'm all for that. Souls clones are becoming less common, and action games are returning with Stellar Blade out last year. As mentioned Ninja Gaiden games. Phantom Blade Zero. Lost Soul Aside. Tides of Annihilation. More just straight-up action games. Welcome site for me.
