Conversely we don't know if the games would have been even better, if Sweetbaby inc didn't mess with them.

I think Sweetbaby inc, probably consulted / wrote for like 70 other games.
If you wanted to prove your point, you should look at them all.
See how many of them turn out good atleast, compaired to bad, or flopped.
Vs how common it is for games (without consultant firms).

Maybe your also falling into " internal bias" when you say, your take, without backing it up.
I havn't looked either, so like you, this is just my "gut" feeling.
More often than not, I think this DEI stuff hurts games.

I literally grabbed all of the their recent "AAA" so it's actually a fair test without bias. We are after all talking about an AAA games. I didn't grab small indie games or AA because we rarely know their exact success rate or what equates to success for them.

"Conversely we don't know if the games would have been even better, if Sweetbaby inc didn't mess with them."

This is the point at which I'm very happy to leave this discussion alone because what is there to even warrant this investigation beyond the original bias? What games are you think of when you suspect DEI ruining their quality?

Dragon Age The Veilguard for one.

Maybe its not listed anywhere (sweet baby inc, closed down their site, and scrubbed it right?), maybe its another consultant, maybe they have enough DEI hires there that they don't need any consultant firms like that, because they themselves are like that.

Is it just a random coincidence that their game director is a trans person, and the game is riddled with all this woke stuff and pronouns ?

It's just a very drastic turn of ship, from how the old Dragon Age games used to be.
I know, that was forever ago.... Times change.

However, like its not really something that fits the "lore" or Cannon, of Dragon age.
That's why people were saying stuff like "it feels like Disney bought Bio Ware".

In the same vain, there's stuff like that, people feel are out of place in other games.

------------------

Sweet baby inc also worked on:
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Tales of Kenzera: Zau
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Alan Wake 2
Spiderman 2
The Crew Motorfest
Goodbye Volcano High
Gotham Knights

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Baby_Inc.

I'm convinced they worked on more.... but they hide it.  This wiki list isn't the full picture.
Which is kinda odd.... but maybe related to that "steam list" and people saying they would boycott their games.
Still how many other consultants don't want to show their works? Its odd.

Also why do so many of these consultants, all have links to one another?

So like maybe you get Powell group, to consult on your game, and the person they send, is someone from Sweet Baby Inc. ?

Hell my take, is that people love larian studios.
Most would love to see them take on more old RPG IP, because they trust them to do justic to the works and treat the IP properly.

No, they should really do they own stuff - they made great megadungeon crawler with BG3, but they did pretty mediocre (to be polite) job at treating that game as proper Baldur's Gate sequel.

Yes, they really shine doing the Divinity series... but what? I'm 20 hours in and this is no dungeon crawler, it rivals Divinity OS2 as the best CRPGs. You're blinded by nostalgia, Baldurs Gate 1 is mediocre compared to this game. Is it that use prefer real time with pause? Larian games are so much better than 90's CRPG's in every aspect, they moderized the genre and polished it up.

Looks like this thread is taking off again. So I'm going to nuke it before it can fester again.

There is no discussion being held here. This thread has fallen for fake news TWICE. It took me less than 30 seconds to debunk both of them. Also the reviews have come out and the sky isn't falling.

The reviews are so average that people have resulted to making fake google reviews and trying to use THOSE as proof of it bombing.

You are bound to love Earthbound.
