Apparently Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is eligible despite being a dlc. https://www.polygon.com/awards/480437/tgas-game-awards-elden-ring-dlc-goty-rules-change

Not a fan personally even though i loved the dlc. I think another game deserves to win GOTY more.

Well I did predict some shows might go fuck it and nominate Shadow of the Erdtree. Definitely not a fan either though.

Shadow of the erdtree should not be nominated imo. There should be a seperate category for best expansion/dlc

Apparently according to the TGA terms, remasters, expansions, DLCs, and even game seasons were always eligible for GOTY.

The fact that they felt the need to mention it suggests SotE not only has the votes to make it but it's a serious contender. Also, it means Phantom Liberty got snubbed.

That's questionable to say the least. That's why the VCA's (VGChartz Awards) are where it's really at.

^ so much this, a dlc or expansion shouldn't be in the same catagory as new games or remakes.

Same with remasters.... like a slightly upgrade in visuals ect shouldn't mean you get a new nomination.

Considering who the voters are, I'm willing to bet that DA:The Veilguard will be nominated.

Truly sad that it could very well happen in spite of a low 80's critic average and significantly lower user reviews (sitting on 30 average on OpenCritic, 34 average on Metacritic).

I think veilguard will be nominated over wukong

Tell us you think its been a lackluster year without telling us you think its been a lackluster year

This is disappointing news

Lukewarm take, neither game deserves a nomination.

They aren't even Zelda/SB tier and these aren't probably going to make the cut either.
