Forums - Gaming Discussion - Satya Nadella says more Xbox games will be released on other platforms

Cool.

Rare Replay should be released on more platforms.

Slow suicide from the perspective of hardware sales, but as a gamer with a PS5/Switch I ain't complaining.
Hope Hellblade II makes the jump, I'd pick that one up for sure as I loved the first game.

Xbox cannot financially support the exclusive development of a dozen or more 100~ million dollar budget games with the install base they have currently.

Microsoft is *very* good at making money, so this was the natural progression of things, it's great for Playstation, PC and Nintendo gamers, not so great for Xbox as a platform as it looses any "special" appeal... Which is sad to see as the hardware is actually very very good.

Even now, whenever I walk into EB Games, the Xbox shelves are a fraction of the size of even the Playstation 4/5/Switch section... And often I need to hunt around for a physical copy. I.E. Most Recently with Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, no one had it in stock locally so had to drive a few hours.

It will be interesting to see if Xbox continues past the next generation.

ESPECIALLY on the next Nintendo console, but this version includes games Rare made for Nintendo, such as the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Diddy Kong Racing and Donkey Kong 64.

One thing for sure, console wars are dead. Nintendo won it hands down.

4 people agreed with this comment even though it's totally wrong. Yes, the console wars are dead, but it's Sony that won it hands down. Sony releasing Lego Horizon Adventures on the switch proves that Sony does NOT see the Nintendo Switch as a threat to PS5. How can Nintendo have won the console war if your competitor is so non threatened by you it's willing to release it's games on your platform.

Microsoft is putting their games on PS5, does that mean Playstation isn't beating Xbox, because Microsoft apparently don't feel threatened?

Is anyone surprised?

Absolutely.  If we're learned anything over the years it's that console manufacturers will never stumble and fall from one generation to the next.

The difference is, is that Phil Spencer has explicitly stated that they are not trying to out console Sony or Nintendo anymore. They have voluntarily dropped out of the console war. So, yes MS is not threatened by Sony or Nintendo anymore because they are not trying to sell more consoles than them. They are just trying to sell Gamepass and their games on other platforms now. For Sony and Nintendo, that is not the case. Their business model relies on them selling their console and handhelds.

So, yes MS is putting their games elsewhere because they are not threatened by console makers anymore, as they have shifted strategy

So they knew Hi-Fi Rush was a fan favourite. That's interesting.
