Nintendo wouldn’t just shadow drop the biggest announcement in years. Oh, and let’s not forget how upset the press would be if they had to plug in to work during an absolutely sacred family day, regardless of belief system. 

They promised a leak for christmas!!!

I am a journalist and I can assure you that is not a problem. I'm working 365 days a year, 366 in a leap year, regardless of what happens or what doesn't happen. People want to get their news!

Although I am not working in games journalism, so maybe things are different there.

Lets be reasonable here: An announcement isn't coming today! IF there was one te media would jump circles in advance, 100s of leaks would point to it. It ain't happening. Really? You still believe it? But i like your optimism. Its like a soccer team is behind 7:1 in the 70th minute and their trainer still want to make them believe they could turn things around. (Sorry Brazil😍).

Yeah, I still think a console announcement is partly a PR move and making a bunch of folks leave their families or friends or whatever they happen to be doing on their day off isn’t the best way to make a first impression. You are a consummate professional, but half of the gaming press have a bit more whiny work ethic. Look at how bad they’ve been taking this while “no Switch 2 news in 2024.”

I do not wanna stress you or Nintendo here my kind friend but according to european time you have less than 4 hours now Sir! I mean we said december 24 first (christmas day in europe) now its december 25, i mean you've already lost your bet.

And i also hope you are aware of the fact that an announcement means a real announcement and not a bunch or rumors? I want the NAME, how it LOOKS like and at least 1 first party game announcement. An announcement of an announcement is NOT an announcement! So you have less than 4 hours for Nintendo to announce an announcement, reveal the system, how it looks like and show off a first party game! Still in the mix Sir?🤩

nope im counting the rumor that has been spreading today. NSW2 reveal date was revealed on Christmas Day. So...no money lost. (tho technically you owe me b/c i predicted reveal on this day, and rumors count as reveal which span several days.)
