Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Would you be disappointed if "Switch 2" is revealed as Switch PRO? (Poll)

I'd be disappointed with a Switch PRO

Yes 26 52.00%

No 18 36.00%

A bit 1 2.00%

Still excited as Switch 2 5 10.00%

Total:50

The Switch 2 is going to be a generational leap when you compare it to the OG Switch, unlike the PS4/PS5 Pro or the XB1 X. It's not a Pro console. It's the successor to the Switch. If they want to call it Switch Pro then OK I guess but it wouldn't be a Pro like the PS consoles.

^ It's just so samey though. If the leaks on hardware are true then it is the safest gen jump in history.

It's a tablet. How different can it be?  It's bigger. We have yet to see it officially revealed. Yet to see the marketing. Box. Game boxes and such.

Bigger is an issue aswell. In my view DS and 3DS got XL versions but when the 3DS refreshed and practically generation jumped for that system it was smaller. People could be well right about the specs being next gen but the marketing could well be a Switch XL PRO type deal where you have full access to older switch games. Frankly I hope this is the case and continue the Switch momentum instead of relying on casuals to upgrade which they won't. It's the marketing here I'm interested in, I'm really damn excited to see how they reveal it now and I had no interest in upgrading, this is a certain interesting situation.

I also wanna see two SKUs one which is a Switch TV model. Docked only. I'd be be down for that, and end up going back to play stuff like Tears of the Kingdom enhanced for the system and continue on the Nintendo train. Right now I'm out as the system is too weak and the battery life is painful, you namely start a session of the game and you have to position yourself in from of an outlet 2 hours later if the game is demanding enough.

I bet it won't even have switch in its name.

Really, did you see the renders? Do you expect there to be no dock or something?

Ignore, I have not had enough caffeine.

If its an enhanced version of the Switch but capability of playing games at a better resolution/framerate - I would get it.
