I get the sense that most people are like me and didn't like Horizon FW or Ragnorok and were disappointed.

Ask most people do they want another GOW game now or spiderman and they'll tell ya no.

Maybe it's just you (and a minority of disappointed people).

I guess the Internet amplifies these things.

I dont get why the backlash again the Pro. Just dont buy it and keep using your PS5.
If you have the money and want to go for it then do it. What is the problem of people having more options?

This thread ain't just about the PRO. It's asking how Sony is reflected in the eyes of the consumer, how people feel about them. I think it's important to get a gauge on that. Every few months it's seems they are getting more and more haters from within the ecosystem and it's likely they have more on the way with Fair games and what could be a Bungie Disaster. They can't keep taking these hits if they want to be seen as the premium apple like device...huh, it does circle back to the pro after all.

They better be intending to blow minds this state of play, no holding any cards to the chest. Put everything on the table.

Being seen as the premium Apple console brand is part of the problem for some. That means to some a feeling of superior snobbishness along with higher prices. You can bet there's plenty of players who just want down to earth, affordable gaming. The fear here would be having to move to XB or Nin to continue console gaming in the future due to PS ecosystem pricing. If you've built up a digital library with PS, you probably would rather not leave. Same as if you've got some or many friends there as well.

Those in the know, also are aware that PS5 Pro wasn't priced this way in a bubble. PS5 was taken into account as well, which will certainly make some think there's a good chance that PS5 stays at $499, when many are waiting for the price to drop so they can join the ecosystem. If people will pay $700-$800 for Pro, then odds are good they can keep selling PS5 for $499 for a while yet. They also probably want to push as many people to buy Pro as possible, so the last thing they want to do is make PS5 cheaper. The closer the pricing between the two, the more people who will pay the extra for the mid gen upgrade.

There's also the wonder of how this will impact PS6 and next gen. 3 years into the gen, PS4 Pro slotted in at $399 where PS4 started, and we got a 7 year generation, that led to a $499 PS5. 4 years later, we now have a $700-$800 PS5 Pro. Questions immediately pop up like, how long will PS5 remain at $499? Could this gen end up lasting around 10 years? Would PS6 be $599-$699 at launch? These aren't things that necessarily make gamers feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I do think people are bit unfair to Sony software, being cross gen doesn't mean it doesn't count. Traditional generations are dead, mignt as well ger used to it.. What I find is nobody at VG claims Breath of the Wild doesn't count because of the Wii U. Same thing will be true with Prime 4.

The ps5 has Ghost, Demon, Rift, Returnal, Ragnorak, Spider 2, Astro, Sackboy, Forbidden West, TLoU part 1 and Stellar Blade.

Sony has been kicking out some damn good software.

I agree, PS5 will probably continue to receive PS6 first party games for years as well, generations are so long they might as well be dead.

They just need to have more of these big AAA games and soon, of course when PS6 generation starts these games will look and run better, but PS5 will have them as well probably at 30 fps.

It's a state of play, don't expect too much, another reveal like Astro would be your best bet. Maybe Bluepoint or Housemarque will release something soon.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

There's Bend and Naughty Dog too, long over due as well as Cory Barlogs game. Perhaps Bungies game is actually marketable and they have something to show. And sucker punch should have something to show with GoT 2. Like I said, hold nothing close to the chest, put it all out there if not during the state of play use TGS to showcase.
