Nah not really. The PS5 Pro is a high end expensive product that isn't for me. I still enjoy PlayStation and my ps5.

Barren exclusives doesn't really make sense. They've had many this year... The two highest rated games of this year are PS5 exclusive lol.

Put more things out like FF7 Rebirth. Stellar Blade. Astrobot. Revive some amazing dormant franchises. Ape Escape. Omega Boost (mech games are back) Wild Arms (JRPGs selling well now) Sly Cooper. And it's good but less Concords and Fairgame$ trend chasing garbage.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Gamers just had it good for too long and are going to be getting some brutal reality checks in the next few years.

There are almost no industries out there where companies subsidize the cost of any consumer good down to bare cost or even are willing to sell anything at a loss. The fact that in the game business you had game companies convinced they should do that for several decades (lol) is a massive outlier and was likely to come to an end and it looks like it is now.

For the "I'm cheap, but I expect a lot for my money crowd", you had a good run. It's over now. You're gonna pay big for future Playstations and if you go the PC route, future Nvidia GPUs.

And game prices will likely also continue to rise on top of that to make up for rising budgets. Companies were not going to shoulder all these rising costs and never pass them on to consumers. To think that was how things would work was naive.

Nope, especially compared to their competitor(s).

PS5 Pro might be expensive to many but there is still the slim PS5 that you can choose to buy at a more affordable price. Not sure why so many are acting like this PS5 Pro is like the beginning of a new console generation and that it's already over for Sony.

People better get used to that pricing range. If they think they're getting a PS6 for substantially cheaper a few years down the line, lol, they probably have another thing coming.

Well they have done well so far, including exclusive output.

A few points are annoying:
1. We have little idea what there studios are working on and what the future holds when it comes to games. We know Marathon, Fairgames and Wolverine will come at one point. Xbox dies this better in my opinion.

They even presented the pro console without a game that will fully utilise it's functions.

2. PSVR2 support almost totally depends on the market, even more than PS Vita.

3. Playstation is new hobby is making a lot of price increases. Be it consoles, controllers and subscriptions.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I would imagine so

About their games: I guess they'll show more this autumn as PS5P and 30 anniversary are coming. And there's Death Stranding 2 which is also a huge game which is supported by PS though isn't developed by 1-party studio.

People complained that PSVR2 is more expensive than a PS5 console. Sony fixed that problem by raising PS5 prices . ;)

It's because SNY dropped PS4 to $299 after 3 years, while introducing PS4 Pro at $399 (optical drive included).

Now we have PS5 at $499 after 4 years, and PS5 Pro being introduced at $699 ($799 with the optical drive add on).

Is PS5 Pro that much more of an upgrade over PS5 vs what PS4 Pro was over PS4?

The biggest reason is inflation, but if SNY's approach and strategy was similar to PS4, there's little reason why PS5 couldn't be dropped to $399 and have Pro at $599. The fact SNY decided not to go with 1TB storage and let the user upgrade to 2TB, knocking $50-$100 off the price, or using that to offset the cost of including the optical drive, shows SNY has changed their strategy and doesn't care much about growing unit sales. As long as they keep making large enough profits they don't care what PS product you're gaming on.

They're heading towards becoming arrogant PS3 SNY again.
