I would buy PSVR2 if I had the space for it. I don't in my current living situation.

The headset is not that big to store ;)

Many, most games can be played sitting. Which is what you end up doing anyway after a while.
Nearly all of the rest can be played standing in one spot.
I have only played one game (The Last Clockwinder) that needed me to move around the room.

VR is here to stay, but still needs to improve a lot, get a lot more user friendly to become main stream.

There are plenty games already that wouldn't work without VR (or very badly) but true, those don't have the big budgets.

As I mentioned above, The Last Clockwinder is one of those that can only work in VR.

It's a puzzle game where you create carbon copies of yourself forming different production lines. (You can actually do it all standing in one spot, but for max efficiency you can move around to do multiple actions with one copy)

Some games get a lot better with VR controls. Like CyubVR, working with 2 hands at the same time is a lot faster!

And being in the world makes it so much easier not to get lost.

It's a lot easier to judge jump distances in 3D platformers

That would work in AR as well. 3rd person games are tons of fun in VR. Moss 1 and 2 are magical!

Another one that would be incredibly difficult without VR is Puzzling Places, I've put well over 200h in this already

The models only keep getting better and always cool to (pretend to) walk through after it's finished

There are so many more things you can do in VR besides point and shoot/slash.

And of course dual wielding and no speed limits

Plus this just doesn't feel the same on TV, nor can you aim through tiny cracks

VR is the best way to experience games. But it's expensive, cumbersome, fiddly and can make people sick. It will continue to get better.

My main gaming room is my 9x9 bedroom, most of which is taken up by my bed. There is absolutely no room for VR gaming. Once I move into another space and can play games in the open living room then I will get whichever VR system I find most appealing.

Damn Svennoj, what were you thinking putting your mine so far from your home. That's bad planning,

As others have said, VR has been an enduring concept for too long now for it to die out, but its current form is definitely niche and enthusiast. Breaking out into the masses will require a device with mass appeal. The closest so far are the Quest line and the Apple Vision Pro. Despite its current price I think Apple has the right idea with an AR first, portable(ish) device that has general utility beyond just gaming. As always, the tech just needs to mature to a point where it's cheap, lightweight, comfortable, and properly portable while remaining capable. Until then, it'll remain niche.

It will always be a niche product, never for the masses.
They have been trying to push for it for a very long time and it hasnt happened yet. Of course it is great for a few things but it will most likely always be bulky, heavy, will require you to stay in place and unaware of surroundings. You cant share the experience. Also a lot of people gets dizzy and a lot of times it doesn work well with glasses.
So it will always be there, but as a niche product.

I guess your post is made out of ignorance but ok I'll entertain.

You dont need to be rude when showing off your superior knowledge you know? It is this type of attitude that makes internet discourse more and more insufferable.

Honestly never even tried VR. One day. But I am waiting for them to reach a price level that is a little more tenable for an accessory I may not use often.
That... And seeing where the technology will end up plateauing.

Sorry if it came out as a rude reply, but you did come in spewing all the cliché stereotypes that anyone who hasn't at least been minimally informed would.

I just saw fit to answer your complaints. It might have came out strong though so sorry again. I don't want it to sour the discourse any further.

I didn't want to taint the pretty mine below my home with all the excavations!

I had to travel a lot lot further to find the yellow glow stone for the edge of my pyramid

Fun to build bridges to get there faster

There is no way I could have build that on flat screen without a whole lot of scaffolding. VR makes it so much easier to build in tight spaces, reach around things while standing on the bottom truss. No need for fly mode, all build in full gravity without any scaffolding.

That game looks sick. Man, the more ai talk to you on here I really wish I had a PS5 and that damn headset. Are there small developers still keeping the scene going lime with PSVR 1? The digital store is in good shape and nothings hidden? Is Sony pushing VR games to the forefront at all these days?

I bought the PSVR1 for cheap after it had its first major price drop. I enjoyed it quite a bit for about 2 years. RE7, Thumper, Batman, Until Dawn, Paranormal Activity, and Here They Lie were some of the games I beat on it and really enjoyed. I liked the horror games on it quite a bit. One day I just stopped playing it, and never came back to it. I had a little bit of interest in the PSVR2 before it got revealed, but the price was a turnoff and there wasn't many games I wanted to play. Really the only new games on it I would want to play are RE 8, RE 4, and Horizon. The recent $200 price drop is a little tempting, but not enough to pick it up based on Sony's first party support of it.
