This.  This is why you lose.

I understand you're coping and seething right now.  But if liberals ever want to win anything again, you must be retrospective.

So it's simply not appropriate for Democrats to claim the election was rigged?

Is that what he's saying here? Because it sounds like he's just calling Americans stupid.  Just like the left always does.

But to answer you, no, because it was rigged.  In their favor, and they still lost.

"OMG why is the country suddenly so full of Nazis."

The left has only themselves to blame for this, their attitude for the past decade provided the perfect conditions for the alt right to flourish.

Run Jon Steward next time if the world doesn't end, I am convinced there is no better option. Not Pete, not Gavin, not the Clintons, not the Obamas, not another dem politician.

Kamala's proposed policies made me want to move the US, yet she got 10 million less votes than Biden. Jon would appear on podcasts, argue cleverly and embarrass those hosts, would be popular on TikTok, and he doesn't sound like a politician if that's what the lazy people are looking for.

Yes, yes, I am still coping... I don't even know what the world will be like in 4 years.

Meh...You may have a point, it seems Americans prefer celebrities more than actual politicians now. Celebrities and billionaires outside of the "establishment" seem to be the way things are going. What a future where politics becomes more about personality than actual policies, Lol. (Not saying Jon Stewart would be bad though).

Future? Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger ring a bell? :)

Politics has always been about personality. Face of the party.

It would be a welcome experiment to hold elections based on platform, no faces. (Ehh Stephan Fry for UKs next PM ;)

On one hand, Kamala only had a few months of campaigning while Trump essentially did for years.
But she was part of Biden's administration as the VP, and I think it's difficult for a woman to win in USA unfortunately. They'd rather elect a convicted felon.

Sounding like an idiot when you speak does not appear to be a disadvantage. But eloquent speakers like Obama have won as well.

I think a lot of this comes down to "egg price high" and people not realizing that Biden inherited and operated under Trump's economy, while Trump inherited Obama's.
Democrats fix the damage they do, but get the blame for it.

Also bringing the inflation down doesn't bring prices back down. It stops them from rising. But people still want to go back to egg price pre Covid. That's not how it works.

The media. They normalized facism. Trump is not a normal candidate and we treated him like one. Most Trump supporters arent' facists they just don't know policy and are brainwashed. But the media treating him like a regular candidate normalized this.

Curl in the 1930s-1940s: "So much for the tolerant left! The left only have themselves to blame for this, their authoritarian attitude for the past decade provided the perfect conditions for the Nazis to flourish!"

Spare me the lectures about Democrats rhetoric whilst you ignore everything that Trump and his supporters have said and done over the past few years and only ever bother to comment when it's to lecture Democrats, have I ever seen you comment on anything that Trump or his supporters have said or done? Because all I see is you coming in here to shout about Democrats not speaking kindly. Yes, Trump is a fascist and America just voted for a fascist and those who are aware of this fact, knowingly voted for a fascist, so what do that say about them?

Some of them clearly do love his fascist agenda, some of them just don't care about voting a fascist in power if it benefits them (likely the majority), but I will say that some of them may not have known everything he has said and done or what others who worked closest to him have said about him, especially since some people didn't even know Joe Biden wasn't running anymore. Some of you seem so surprised to find out that humans can be incredibly selfish, easily influenced and yes, even fascist, Lol.

She lost largely because of inflation, not because people were called a fascist, JFC. Lmao.

It's a peak online take to suggest mean words is what caused this.

Authoritarian Leftists...Smdh....Lol.

In this very thread I have called Trump "awful" and a "dumpster fire":

https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread/248303/2024-us-presidential-election/145/#2

The truth is, a big part of Trump's appeal is that he makes many people who feel disenfranchised feel seen and heard. It doesn't matter that if he's actually going to solve their problems; he makes them feel that he will.

If the left are ever going to defeat Trumpism, they can't afford to keep just dismissing anyone who supports him as just irredeemable evil Nazis who can't be reasoned with. Doing so doesn't confront the root problem, it just sweeps it under the rug where it continues to fester and grow.

We've seen this play out twice now; his base is written off as just a handful of fascist nutters only to then beat expectations come election day.

I'm not a Trump supporter, I'm not even a conservative, but clearly the left's approach to Trumpism is a losing strategy.

I mean if you blamed the Clinton’s and Obama’s neoliberalism I’d sympathise and agree. But this is really lazy and so 2016, even for you.

Kamala’s campaign was devoid of any cultural bs rhetoric. The American right dominate twitter, YouTube and the most popular podcasts. Authoritarianism? What the fuck are you talking about

A pretty sad result all around. As a Romanian, I am not looking forward to seeing how the whole Ukraine debacle is going to unfold if Trump does something stupid. 😩

Well...All I'll say as a Brit is that Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and America's backstabbing of Europe, has made me feel more European than ever, and I know that might seem stupid to say since UK is in Europe but until recently I've never really felt a strong connection to Europe, I've never felt European, now I do and I love (not Hungary) my European allies despite how much we bicker between ourselves (especially UK and France).

I would much rather UK aligns itself closer to Europe than America at this stage, I hope Europe can stay united. What you're feeling is basically what millions of Europeans are feeling right now, let alone Ukrainians. Fear and dread for what this means for Ukraine and European security. I hope UK never abandons its European allies like America. There's more important things than how much money you can make off someone.

I have faith, UK was supporting Ukraine stronger than most all the way back to 2014 but without America it will be, near impossible odds...Maybe not impossible though...We'll see...Zelenskyy will try to play up to Trump's ego, it may work, especially if he promises him something in return, or even if he wants to stroke Trump's ego and say he will be the saviour of Europe and we'll build statues of him across Europe, I'll do it if it means not losing American support but Europe seriously needs to step up and start putting forth a future without America and it's absolutely pathetic that UK, France and Germany weren't already in deep implementation of this and took things for granted.
