Ironically, there's probably at least a few Republicans secretly wishing that this victory had been achieved with either DeSantis or Haley. Or basically anyone that could run again in 2028.

Oh yeah, but they are all silent as church mice. Many of us pointed out trump was under polled in 2016 and 2020, we were "informed" we didn't know what we were talking about.  |
Hence why some of us haven't bothered at all with these types of forums anymore. You're seen as either dead wrong, always, period, or you're a problem that needs to be solved sooner than later by silencing you one way or another.
It's pretty hard to see what's coming when you don't know enough about the other side because you purposely silence it or ignore it.
As some like to say, "actions have consequences". Some people need to learn the hard way. Some never seem to learn.

If you think Pete Buttigieg had a chance, a gay man from Indiana in the extremely religious America, then I don't know what to say, I would concede that probably someone like Shapiro had a better chance than Harris but not Pete and I fucking love Pete a lot more than I like Shapiro. Also I don't know why the think Pete's service record is relevant when America elected a draft dodger who talks shit about the military all the time, who highest ranking members of America's military calls a fascist, Republicans only pretend to give a shit about the military. Biden administration tried to address the border with a bipartisan, right-wing border bill, which Donald Trump told the Republicans to block and they did so spare me that bullshit. Harris should have done more to differentiate herself from Biden because his government is the one in charge during inflation and that was a mistake on her part but I don't know how you can argue that inflation didn't play a massive factor in this loss and any Democrat would have had a tough time; Also I feel like you continue to ignore the selfishness and bigotry of Americans. Almost none of Trump's policies addressed the average hardworking American, far more of Harris policies did, Trump insulted basically every person aside from the white man, millions of Americans know they're voting for a fascist but they don't care because they think this fascist will bring their groceries down. It's bollocks that Harris delved too deep into certain policies, she consistently moved herself to the right during this election, on the border, she consistently tried to appeal to Republicans, they almost threw trans people under the bus to try to get Republican voters, it was for nought. All I'd concede on is that in hindsight either Biden should have stepped aside a lot sooner or there should have been a primary and it should have been an average white dude with charisma like Josh Shapiro at the top because American politics is more like a popularity contest now as well because even then it would have been an uphill battle, I am 100% convinced now that if it weren't for COVID, Trump would have battered Biden in 2020 as well. America has moved to the right. |
The highlighted part tells me you know nothing about middle America. Service records for politics are a huge tick.
Edit
As for border policy, trying to push it during an election year was stupid. It should have been done 3 years ago. Liberals only pushed the border policy because of the election, people were fully aware their interest was disingenuous. Like I tried to tell you all for months, Republicans are not the stupid/moron stereotype you all think.

And a lot of people live in Europe and are avoiding this thread like the plague. I was mocked and laughed at via my Betting Firm analysis. Where are those people now? Why so quiet? Facts are facts. We tried to tell you all.  |
Why are you calling out the Europeans? Wtf is your problem? Lol.
What Europeans even consistently posted in this thread before aside from me? FWIW 4 Europeans liked my previous comment.
Europeans are probably pissed off that America has backstabbed us and looking on in disbelief but we have a lot bigger fucking problems to deal with now thanks to America, like the massive imperialist country called Russia invading European countries and threatening us 24/7. Sorry if Europeans aren't rushing in to apologise to you, we've got far bigger problems to deal with now.
Is America at threat from Russia? No. So spare me the whining about how Europeans are avoiding this thread.

My problem? A bunch of Europeans told me for months I didn't know middle America, despite living there for 42 years. Meanwhile the people telling me I was wrong haven't stepped foot in that area and have been an annoying combination of clueless and arrogant.
The amount of utter BS posted in this thread is shameful, like I've been saying for a hundred pages. You all do not know what you are talking about.

Alright, I'll bite. What should've liberals done to connect to middle America other than be more conservative?

That's why the man with no service record won the election.
VP of Harris had a longer service record than JD and Trump combined.
Pete would have to contend with homophobia in a deeply religious America, on top of that, his highest ever spot in office is Secretary of Transportation (which from what I've seen as an outside observer has received a lot of criticism). Josh Shapiro would have had a far better chance, a swing state Governor with a high approval rating, an aura of charisma and a white male.

Drop special interest groups and focus on the economy -> stock market, low unemployment, GDP growth, inflation following from 9% to 3%, housing prices cooling off. Things people actually care about.

You are just proving my point. Someone from Indiana + service record versus California Prosecutor is a slaughter. You simply do not, as evidenced by the fact of yesterday, have a clue of American politics.

They did that, Lol.
Biden couldn't shut up about the stock market, they were constantly talking about unemployment and job rates beating expectations, they spoke about inflation going down (and being a lot less than European countries) but with still work to be done. Large portions of their campaign were focused on the economy and recognising it was still not in a good place and work has to be done.
Guess what though? Inflation is still too high for the average American.
They meanwhile threw trans people under the bus and went right-wing on the border.
