Come on, you're still crying about people voting for Nintendo games? People can vote however they like, deal with it.

I can't make an observation?? And my intention was never to criticize people's tastes, but I was surprised by the number of Nintendo fans here, almost at the level of Nintendo everything.com lol

Complaining across multiple threads about people voting for Nintendo games just isn't necessary. You vote for what you want, and let others do the same.

And you're exaggerating anyway, plenty of years have gone to non-Nintendo games, in fact of the last ten years we've voted on, only two have gone to Nintendo titles.

Dude, you don't understand, maybe because English isn't my first language, but in this topic I didn't complain, I just gave my vote and made an observation about who I think will win based on the context of the site, now if this is prohibited, give me the rules link

Ah, I see, if English isn't your first language then it seems I may have misinterpreted your post. It can be tricky to convey implied meaning across a language barrier. No hard feelings I hope.

Valkyria Chronicles was my GOTG. Looked amazing and finally convinced me to get a PS3.

Tales of Vesperia was also really good. Of the games listed here, I'd vote Fallout 3 or SSBB.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has probably been the most-hyped I have ever been for a game, and it didn't disappoint.
Mario Kart Wii is great, but simply doesn't compare.
But gosh we were so lucky to get a Smash and Mario Kart so close together. I think the only other time it has been in the same year is Mario Kart 8 in May 2014 and Smash 4 out in Autumn/Holiday 2014 for 3DS and Wii U.
I've never played Vanilla Persona 4, but Golden is one of my favorite games. Golden might get my vote when we get to 2012.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I went other. My favourite game of the year was Disaster Day of Crisis. What an amazing game. I don't think there's ever been another game like it.

I probably had the most fun with Mario Kart Wii, but I went ahead and voted for Metal Gear Solid 4.

I'm not a particularly big fan of the MGS series: Really enjoyed the first game, did not like the second game at all, and thought the third game was very overrated. But fortunately, the control of the character and camera became, well, good, at the same time that the game itself successfully embraced the series' weirdness and gave us a crazy story with cattle-sounding bipedal metal gears, the Beauty and the Beast corps, and managing to make Raiden cool. Just make sure to bring the popcorn.  Considering it's still restricted to the PS3, this game is just begging for a proper remaster.

Another Other vote for Valkyria Chronicles here. In 2009 I bought a PS3, the first console I bought since PS1 at the time to pick up FF13 which was disappointing but shortly after that I pick up Valkyria Chronicles and absolutely fell in love with the art style. Combat system great and the story was enjoyable. Great game and well deserving of a GOTY vote for 2008.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Best game ever made.

Still my favorite Smash Bros. And yes, I know about Ultimate.

Glad to see Valkyria Chronicles getting a lot of love in the comments.  It's my personal favorite from this year, but I didn't put it in the poll, because it neither got ultra high reviews or ultra high sales.  It is simply an awesome game though.

Just want to restate this for everyone.  If you want to vote for Persona 4 Golden, then you do it by voting for Persona 4 this year.  Games are eligible for voting according to their earliest release date, and all versions are lumped together.  Likewise, Wrath of the Lich King is not eligible for votes, because it isn't a game.  World of Warcraft is a game and it was eligible for voting in 2004.  If a person wanted to vote for the content in Wrath of the Lich King, then they would do it by voting for WoW in 2004.
