Yikes, that's a nasty monthly blow against the Series.

The system really seems to be running out of steam lately.

Looks like Microsoft bet big on Starfield and lost.  It's still possible for them to make a comeback, but having a great game early on is much better than releasing the same great game near the end of the generation.  Starfield was really their best chance to make a name for the Series X|S.

Pardon me for this weird request but do you happen to have any graphs for Xbox Series X/S vs Famicom/NES? Or considering this kind of graph?
(Sorry for the request, I bet you get a lot of these kind of requests)
I think seeing a graph of that would be interesting, I dont think Series X/S will sell more than the NES. But if the data is incomplete then no worries.
I love seeing the data, and the way you present is always a blast :)

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

We can't do any sales comparisons for anything older than the 7th generation as that is when VGChartz was created. The oldest platform we have estimates for is the DS.

We do report when current consoles outsell lifetime sales of older consoles. The Xbox Series X|S will be surpassing the lifetime sales of the original Xbox in November and the PS5 will outsell the lifetime sales of the SNES in December. Here is a recent article on how I report those figures. (https://www.vgchartz.com/article/457698/xbox-series-xs-outsells-nintendo-gamecube/ ).
