Forums - Nintendo - because Nintendo doesn't have an achievement system or trophies like Sony and Microsoft. and how much this is missed by its users

Not a fan of them, I have them turned off on my PS5/PS3/Xbox 360.
To me, they're just a distracting, annoying gimmick that adds nothing of value.

Its fun? just like the fun of playing games? if you want, we can argue that games as a whole bring nothing of value and are just a waste of time, not just trophies.

it gives you a reason to continue playing a game you enjoyed playing. I finished GoW in like 20 hours, and the trophy hunting alone made me go an extra 6 hours and found places and stuff to do I otherwise wouldn't have found. Without the trophy system, I wouldn't be interested in playing once I finished the story. Shit is fun!

That's the thing, I don't find them fun. I find them intrusive, annoying, and pointless.

why does it say that we posted 23 hours ago

Personally, I don't think Nintendo games need them

When I 100% a game I do it because the content is fun and interesting, and Nintendo more often then not, make games that makes me want to complete them.

Trophies amd achievements to me always felt like the developers are trying to make me do the content by locking a reward behind it
I remember when games had a reward for "ding: watching the credits"

Right? That has got to be the dumbest thing ever.

It's a shitty system and I hope Nintendo never does it. Developers HATE them.

Well, that is just your opinion that you made up.  You have ZERO sources for that opinion.

Just the word of my friend who is a dev and the people he knows plus experience with studios he's worked at with MLB Advanced Media in NYC and R* NYC. He also was the programmer on an indie title Treachery in Beatdown City. No, I don't have a link to our conversations but they are not fun to implement. It's not made up on my part.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Trophy hunting would be fun if so many of the trophies weren't stupid. Like a million kills in gears 2.

i7-13700k

Vengeance 32 gb

RTX 4090 Ventus 3x E OC

Switch OLED

Achievement system is a MUST for me. Despite I switch off achievement popup notifications on all systems if possible and never watch to achievements lists before first playthrough. Just to avoid possible spoilers. And sometimes popped up achievements can change your game style. But if I want to play again or on harder difficulty then most likely I will try to get missing achievements. So just more goals and overall value for the second playthrough if you want to. I see no any drawbacks [for the players] to active achievement system if you can just switch off popups or optionally hide your scorecard.

That's something I never cared tbh

I'm Brazilian as well and I remember when I started posting in english online, back in 2008/2009, it literally took me hours to post stuff and half of it was me apologizing for my bad english as well, lol, so don't worry about it.

We all have this apologetic demeanor, don't we
