I thought Pikmin 1 + 2 came out a long time ago like before 3 on the Switch? I was in a local gamestop here in Kula Lumpur and saw it on the shelf just last week. Did Japan get a late release or something?

Pikmin 1+2 came out earlier this year for digital only. Physical only came out last week on Sept. 22 or something like that. This report is for last week so it makes sense.
