If I am not mistaken, the story in Marathon 2026 is told pretty much how it is in the trilogy. It's not lacking a story mode, just that the gameplay loop is not a level-be-level design of a SP game.

But I do think remakes of the original trilogy, even if released standalone, could be helpful.

I want the remakes because I believe in the reuse of assets. Would be a shame to have those great 3d models and only use them for one game.

Despite Marathon doing worse everyday since release and still in that trend, seems like Bungie does want to keep improving it "for years to come".

I don't know how long they can convice Sony to keep it up when the playerbase keep getting smaller, but if they do have time to keep working on it at least someday they may struck an audience, but they really are due to add an story mode and expand it to a complete new audience. I may try it myself if so (and if there is a physical version with the story content on it).

They are definitely developing Destiny 3 right now, and they will be fully into Playstation Studios by this year's end, I firmly believe that, so best of luck to them.

It's not a retelling. The new game takes place decades after the events of the original games. So it is technically Marathon 4. Or 3. Depending on how each person views Infinity lol.

Or are you referring to how the story plays out? If so, yeah they are very similar lol. Primarily through interactivity with terminals.

yeah I meant the latter!

Welp I wasn't really planning to, but I just preordered Saros. Physical.

Literally got a 42% discount on the preorder.

I think this might be the best preorder discount I've ever gotten for a game. Got 30% for both Death Strading 2 and Ghost of Yotei last year and it was good, was getting a 32% on Saros but choose to pass it this time to wait for discounts later, but a general 10% off coupon popped on Amazon and I tried stacking on it and it worked lol.

Long live physical media.

Sony updated their PS Studios page for the first time in ages https://www.playstation.com/en-us/corporate/playstation-studios/

-BP out.
-LFG in.
-DO never existed lol.
-XDEV description went from "Collaborating with ambitious external studios across the globe" to "Partnering with talented independent studios to publish exciting, exclusive titles for PlayStation players worldwide".
-Valkyrie Entertainment description went from "A well respected studio known for producing high quality work on a range of platforms from console to PC." to "Providing top tier co development expertise to several of PlayStation Studios most iconic and award winning franchises, including ASTRO BOT, Helldivers 2 and God of War".
-NIXXES still talks about pc ports which makes sense because there's services will be on pc either way.
-Bungie wasn't added.

At the same time LFG posted for the very first time on linkedIn:

"teamLFG is hiring! We're a new PlayStation studio, building a joyful team-based action game set in a richly social multiplayer world with comedic, whimsical characters. We're a close-knit team working remote-hybrid across the U.S. and Canada. Please check out the website for more details on what specific roles we are looking for. We are excited to hear from you!"

One of Bungie's art directors also posted that he will work in LFG's game "Now that Marathon has shipped to great fanfare, I've moved on to help our friends in teamLFG to support their efforts ..." Interesting enough it doesn't look like he is leaving Bungie, he will work in LFG from Bungie and I think that's cool and makes sense if he doesn't have other activities inside Bungie at least until Destiny 3 enters production.

So LFG is more official now that it was yesterday lol and the studio is around 60 people.

The Valkyrie Entertainment update is interesting. There's been no prior mention that they helped on Astro and Saros. But moving away from PC development (for GoW) to overall co-development is wise. It would make sense for Sony to have more studios that do this for their internally developed games.

A ND employee posted a photo of a cannon on a fort with the title "research".

Maybe a new Uncharted has entered pre production at ND? Certainly has Uncharted vibes.

Creative director of Lost Legacy and the director for the TLou1 remake. If this is for a new Uncharted, it'll be in good hands.
