I'm playing tlou2 with the new chronological story mode.

The game and story are still sublime. What a game.

Do you keep jumping from Ellie and Abby story?

Yeah you do. It's interesting, but I'm still fairly early. So I'm unsure how well it works from a story telling perspective yet.

I've only played it once, but when I play the remaster as a replay of the game, I'm going to do chronological story mode.

You def should. It's an interesting experiment to see how different the story feels with more liner progression.

Fable looks nice, good for PG but either is going vs Wolverine or GTA (maaaaaaybe lol) so yeah ... they will need some luck for those sales.

I don't think it'll struggle since it's the only Fantasy RPG of the pack but it may not be as big of a launch as it could have been. . If it's good it's sales will continue well past those initial months.

Potentially things could still be spread pretty well.

September - Fable (Autumn)

October- Wolverine

November- GTA

December- Forza 6

Xbox is about to help give PS5 it's best year yet.

I can't imagine Gears is also aiming for the holiday, that'd be overkill

I get when people say different kind of games don't compete with each other and I think in some cases it applies like when one of those games is fifa or a Nintendo game but when it comes to titles like Wolverine, GTA or Fable that are expected to be the one of if not the biggest game of the year for their respective publishers and they also are full priced I always assume that if they are close to each other a lot of people will have to choose, myself included obviously.

I'm interested in Pragmata and Invincible VS but SAROS will release literally in the middle of those two games, the 3 of them releasing in a span of 6 days so SAROS is my priority and I don't know when I'll buy Pragmata but I know I'll try to play Invincible VS as soon as possible after SAROS before it loses its player base.

Oh I know they'll have an impact, just not enough to render it a "struggle" on Playstation unless they're literally launching on the same day Fable will find it's audience.

I know for me Fable will probably take priority over GTA6. Between it and Wolverine, it really just depends how good Wolverine is but by default a well crafted Fantasy RPG with magic/choices etc >>>

I'm hoping Wolverine has elements of Naughty Dog in it, but if it's quite heavy on the popcorn like most of Insomniac games I will probs play Fable first.

A recent tidbit from Mat reveals the PS Portal has sold around 2M in NA alone.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Portal has already surpassed the Steam Deck in lifetime sales.

PS Portal is doing way better than I thought.

Did Resident Evil 4 (2023 version), become in my Top 10 Best Games Ever.

With the start of rumors about the February SoP I have to say something I really liked from last year shows was how the developers themselves confirmed future shows.

In February SAROS was announced and Housemarque said we would watch more later in the same year. That for me was September's SoP and it was September.
Then in September Wolverine was showcased and Insomniac said we will watch more next Spring so I'm expecting to see Wolverine in May/June SoP.
At the same time when Tokon was announced they didn't said anything similar about when we would see more aaaaaand we didn't see anything else from Tokon las year LOL.

I don't remember if they did something similar in the past and I never put enough attention but if it's something new I hope it becomes a tradition among PS Studio's games.

I don't think we'll be having any big game announcements from Sony during February SoP. But if there is any new game announced it better be from Media Molecule so we can know they are alright over there.

You mentioned Tokon and I still don't understand why we didn't have some characters reveals yet, maybe they want to do 4 characters, so a "team", every time, but fighting games usually show their chars one by one until the game comes out, and that is just not happening to Tokon for some reason. It already even had 2 betas, which were great, but nothing new at all. I would love to finally see more chars during this SoP.

There was news about Naughty Dog apparently having a crunch so they can have a playable build of a part of Intergalactic to show some time ago, but I think that is definitely not ready by February and is likely to hit around the middle of the year when we had E3.

The ND situation was overtime* lol. The difference is that overtime is paid, crunch time often isn't.

Tokon was in the 2026 hype reel so I expect this SoP to be about updates of Marathon and Tokon. If Sony doesn't have any stupidity attacks and starts cancelling shit I think this should the year to see Media Molecule and Firesprite games based in job descriptions with temporary contracts than end in early 2027 and that is why as much as I don't expect a lot from this SoP there's a chance for us to see something new just because the last two years they had shown something new in each of the SoP.

(Wolverine technically wasn't new but before September we only had a CGI trailer from 2021 so it counts LOL).

Man, how much money has Sony put into its China Hero project? I'm pretty amazed at how many decent looking games it's yielding (even if most of them look pretty similar).

Rumours of a PS Portal Pro with OLED screen and 120Hz have been circulating lately and it's set to be released this year.

Anyone interested?
