Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

After the recent news of Halo coming to the PS5, and my daily search if Playstation Brasil will ever bring the new God of War dualsense after announcing it and just being radio silent even after the thing has already released worldwide.

I got to think, do you think we can get a Halo dualsense? Playstation controllerz being green is extremely rare, we have the alpine green ones that are event exclusive, but we also do have a chroma teal dualsense being sold, and even as I think it looks really interesting, the chroma series is shiny.

I didn't think about it with Forza or Gears, but Halo is the franchise most associated with Xbox and the green color too.

I think that would actually be pretty interesting, and if done right I could want one myself, even as I have little to no interest on Halo, but because of the elusive green color on Playstation controllers plus it marking Halo being on Playstation, which we only had something similar once with Sonic being on Nintendo during the Gamecube era.

It's time for PlayStation All Stars 2. Now that all Xbox games are on PS5.

Funny enough in the 12 years after the release of PS All Stars, PlayStation has released a good bunch of their most iconic franchises so it wouldn't be necessary to have guest characters like freaking Heihachi lol.

Character that should be added are Astro from Astro Bot, Aloy from Horizon, The Hunter from Bloodborne, Joel and Ellie from TLOU, Jin Sakai and Atsu from Ghost, Peter and Miles from Spider-Man, Selene from Returnal, Cayde-6 from Destiny, Helldiver from Helldivers and Norse Kratos + Atreus from Norse GOW. If we are talking second party then William from Nioh, The Blade Twins from Rise of the Ronin, Eve from Stellar Blade and Sam Bridges from Death Stranding.

This.

Well, I finally caves in and bought Expedition 33. Ordered completely on a whim since I’m hoping to run through the whole thing over the next 3-4w (I want it done in time for Kirby Air Riders.)

Highest rated game of all time on HLTB! Here’s to hoping it clicks with me.

alright well… there’s been a new development. In short, my mom shipped my PS5 to my place (I recently moved out for grad school and only took my Switch 2) AND my PSVR. And I just remembered that the reason I wanted the VR set was to play Astro Rescue Mission. So, now I’m at a crossroads.

(Option A.) I finish my playthrough of the classic Sonic quad-ilogy (Sonic 1/2/3/CD), then Astro Rescue Mission. Maybe I could get a Platinum out of Astro!

(Option B.) I abandon my Sonic playthrough and leave Astro in my backlog, and jump straight into E33.

So little time for so many games. :( I have ~36-48hr of playtime available before KARs releases.

Sonic then Astro. I feel like you don't get to it now you'll probably never will.

On the topic of Astro, I just envisioned a masterpiece: Astro Bot but with a SMOdyssey-style open world. If Sony released this on PS6, that would be the sole reason I ever purchase that system.

I'd say it's possible based on the way things look to be heading.

I'd even wonder if MS might make a 3rd party version of the XB controller for PS5 or PS6. Maybe even the Elite Controller. Sell special versions on PS just like they do on XB. They've also got XB Design Lab and that could certainly be interesting for PS gamers making custom designed controllers for themselves.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

They would need to get the haptics, triggers and motion features incluced so I dunno it that would be cheap, certainly would be an option for people migrating to playstation for the first time and having a familiar controller (analog orientation, dpad format, overall format, etc).

A themed dualsense would be the easiest route, but options are always welcome.

The plus side would be if MS were to do this, it would put more pressure on SNY to get more creative and offer more controller options, possibly similar to what XB does like personal customization.

Having to choose an XB third party themed/custom controller over a DS PS controller would look bad on SNY, especially if those XB controllers sold well enough on PS5/PS6.

A DS PS Halo themed controller designed by Bungie (with or without the Bungie logo on it) would be sweet and hilarious.

AstroBot (the character) needs to leave his own game and be utilised in a new series where he's a distinct character among a diverse cast of different species.

It's not good that Astro has less personality than the little cosplaying bots he saves. He's cute and all, but he doesn't stand out in his own game. All bots are each other's copies. It's like Sackboy but worse (never played LBP, but I watched some videos).

If they don't want to abandon the IP، then maybe have the main character entering a new dimension where he meets and works with new characters/species that look, behave, and function differently, in a more organic world.
