Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

I use my PS4 Pro still sometimes (it's the PlayStation I have in my bedroom, PS5 is in the main gaming setup) and I selected the Tifa Dynamic Theme again. It's one of the best, if not the best themes on PS4. I like the layout of the PS4 OS better as well. Obviously PS5 is faster, for one.

Now i need china to rip off all the other PS IPs to know their total sales LOL.

The Horizon franchise is confirmed to have over 38M units sold. I think something like:

HZD: 25M+
HFW: 11.5M - 12M
Lego Horizon: 800K - 1.2M+
CoTM: 200K - 500K+

I can see Battlefield 6 pushing PS5s this year. Game looks hot!

In other news, Sony is investing in 2 more China Hero Project games, and for phase 4 are bringing in Virtuous to help with co-development (an some other studios for support I am forgetting what now).

Absolutely right call from Sony here. This investment is going to be very good for them. Look forward to seeing what phase 2 and 3 have for India (though phase 1 games aren't out yet)

EDIT: really great interview here about the China Hero Project. Very interesting insights shared.

I don't disagree. I've been thinking I'm going to skip PS5 for PS6, but if BF6 turns out to be as good as it looks, along with games like GTAVI on the way, it's going to become difficult to hold off and wait.

Also:

Am I crazy in thinking that EA/Dice are subliminally trying to convince me and everyone else to buy a PS5?

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

The Horizon multiplayer project is going to do some crazy numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised if this franchise hits 100M+ sold units before SpiderMan or The Last of Us. Its actually insane how Horizon is talked about in online spaces like Era or Reddit. But then you find out it attracts more female gamers and it all makes sense lol.

I feel like overall people underestimate how leggy some of these first party titles are because Sony doesn't give us regular sales updates. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if SpiderMan 2018 was approaching, or has surpassed, 30M+ units sold.

It's one of the most creative IP in decades, so it's well deserved it succeeds.

Don't see a single reason to dislike about the franchise, people online just being people online, I guess.

It's ok to not like it, but to hate it? Makes no sense.

Yeah saw that too, I didn't watch the presentation but saw a couple pictures and clips. The PS5 was on stage even when the people invited was playing on pc and the of course the button figures were there right in the face of people watching.

My biggest wish for this game is for Aloy to not be the focus of it. I think the franchise is good enough to keep going once Aloy story ends so this could be the perfect game to start offering experiences beyond Aloy.

I also think that move could erase some of the poison social media has put in games with female protagonists and that in the long run could benefit the sales of Horizon 3.

Now that I didn't see. I didn't watch the full presentation either. I did see they had the jumbo screen showing at times, a black background with the typical Battlefield name on screen, with the 4 different player type PS symbols beneath. So maybe I'm not crazy.
