Played through Hollow Knight. I don't think I have the skill/interest to do the 112%, but I finished the main story and had an awesome time.

I also have been playing the Uncharted 1 Remaster.

I always had mixed feelings on Uncharted 1, the couple of times I had played through it. I enjoyed the genre, but it generally felt like a 7-8/10 game for me.

I kind of feel like the remaster must be a little less polished than the original. I was having some issues, a couple of ledges that Nate didn't want to grab the first time. But I felt like I had a much better time than I ever did before. It was very solidly a 9/10 game this round. Not sure if it's because of improvements to the remaster, or if I was just in more of an Uncharted mood than usual.

Also tried Oblivion. Having some performance issues. Big frame rate drops every like 15 seconds in the open world. Going to wait on some patches.

Also tried Fallout 4 for a few hours. And I feel like it's not quite what I want it to be. I plan on playing it, but I don't feel captured by it, right now. I don't know if this comparison will make any sense, but I feel like I was hoping for something more like Skyrim while happening to have guns, and it almost feels closer to something like BioShock.

On the Final Fantasy topic, I have been wanting to get back into trying to play the mainline games. But I'm not sure where I want to go atm.

I've played all the home console games plus Golden Abyss.

Uncharted 1 is slightly better than Golden Abyss but worse than all the other numbered games and possibly weaker than Lost Legacy as well.

Uncharted 2-4 were pretty peak to me in terms of the IP. They're all great games. Uncharted 1 just didn't have as much of a wow factor in the story or gameplay.

I plan on replaying the games one day, but I have such a huge backlog right now.

Looking at the footage, Destiny Rising is the Destiny 3 we didn't get bunch of stuff in there that not even Bungie ever added lol akimbo weapons being one notable example.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I platinumed FFX (and X-2 and the last extra bonus game) the final boss is probably the easiest of all final bosses in FF games. The extra bonus final boss is annoying but you can use Yojimbo for him.

It's more just me overthinking. I have basically all the mainline games (except for XIII and the multiplayer ones), and I intend to play all of them.

I was playing through Final Fantasy III and life got busy. And I don't really like coming into a game partway, so I'm not sure if I want to restart III but I also kind of feel like a change of pace might be good too.

Kind of in the mood to replay X, kind of want to start playing XII, also kind of feel like I should keep up on III.

Too many good options.

If its any of the Pixel Remasters, shouldnt take too long and would recommend playing them again. III imo I prefer the original formula (NES, Pixel Remasters) over the 3D remake (DS, PSP, and PC).

With the boosters, I was able to finish the following

FF1 - 7 hours (compared to 20 on the PSP, GBA versions)

FF2 - 12 hours (compared to 20 on the PSP, GBA versions)

FF3 - 12 hours (compared to 20 hours on the NES version)

FF4 - 13 hours (compared to 20 hours on the SNES and PS1 versions and 25 hours on the GBA and PSP versions)

FF5 - 28 hours (compared to 25 hours on the SNES and PS1 versions and 60+ hours took me on GBA and Mobile remake on PC)

FF6 - 26 hours (compared to the 25 hours on SNES and PS1 versions and 55+ hours on GBA and Mobile remake on PC).

And I did also play FF7 OG on Switch as well with the boosters, took me 30 hours compared to 65 hours it took me without boosters on the Steam/PC version.

The boosters are the best QoL features in these games, they should implement them in every re-release of every game they make (including Dragon Quest lol).

My man... UC1 is not possibly weaker than Lost Legacy, it most definitively is a a weaker game (and Golden Abyss too). Lost Legacy is all the best parts of UC condensed, just an amazing game.

Uncharted 2 was probably the best 7th generation game objectively. I remember playing that game online all the time after school. Wish Sony will bring back uncharted with online.

Back when 4 had recently launched I liked the idea of a new studio taking the reins of the franchise for a new era. I could play new adventures like those forever. Sounds like that rumor wasn't true but I hope Uncharted doesn't become another dead franchise we look back on wistfully. At least Indy's back now.

I mean, even if they remake the first 3, the 2nd and 3rd games both have competitive and coop online. Seems like a slam dunk release imho

So, I have finished Dragon Age Veilguard. It's my first DA game; might be my first Bioware game too.

I think overall I had a good time with it. Definitely when the credits rolled I thought back about the start of the game and where the story had taken me. I don't think the story is anything revolutionary, but I had a good time with it as you battle to stop Elven Gods from trying to reshape the world as they see fit.
The problem with the story is how conversation choices are worked into the system. At first, I felt like being agreeable and going to answers that I think made sense to not escalate the situation. But then I decided to mix it up a bit but ultimately even when the MC pushes back or gets a little more aggressive in their answers, the end result is almost 95% the same. It's not like the general flow of convo choices change anything, if at all. When they are, the game pretty much prompts you that it will. There are some odd ones where the game doesn't, but this only changes some conversations later in the game, but nothing that really impacts anything.

I thought this was a shame, and after a while for some convos I had little interest in, I just chose a random answer because I knew it wouldn't matter. But beyond that, I liked the story. And there are some fun set piece moments that I think really well. The final set of missions feels pretty epic in scope, even if they probably aren't under closer inspection.

I played on performance mode because the 30fps felt too sluggish to play this game. And even then, I don't think the visual upgrade was worth it. Graphically, the game is acceptable. The art style pushes it more, and I loved the character designs of the main characters. The character creator seemed robust, but also a little tough to get a model I really wanted. I settled on something acceptable, so it's not something I can complain about. At 60fps, the game feels better to play and I don't recall there being many noticeable dips, so that's good.

The game plays like an action RPG where you can control your party in regards to how to use their main spells and who to focus on attacking. There's a bunch of skill and build upgrades you can unlock. There's tons of armour. There's the ability to add extra skills to all items/ armour/ weapons. At some point, it just became a bit too much for me and I kind of forget it existed. Had to spend like 25 levels of of skills upgrades when I finally realised. I personally think there's too much, but it is an RPG so I shouldn't complain. You'll either enjoy the action rpg angle of it, or you won't. I'd avoid it if you'd prefer more strategy based or turn based systems. But I had fun with the combat, but it's worth nothing that there isn't a lot of variety here in terms of what you can do in combat unless you respec and keep changing things up. I honestly didn't care because I found what I chose to make for a good enough combat loop.

Overall, I think Veilguard could've used more time to fix up story/ convo related systems. But I enjoyed my time with it. I'm actually curious to see what a new Dragon Age will be like (if EA ever explores the idea). Not sure I'd go back into the series though.
