It all sounds like a story we have heard before. Does Flavio have a son that can run next election?

I think his children are daughters and are still presently minors. That doesn't preclude them from running when they reach adulthood, of course (see: Keiko Fujimori).

He does have two other brothers in Brazil - Carlos, who is the senator-elect for Santa Catarina, and Jair Renan, who is a deputy-elect for Santa Catarina. Michelle Bolsonaro, the former First Lady, is the senator-elect for Brasilia. The party had actually considered nominating her for President. So there are plenty of other vipers in Brazil. That should also dispel the lie that Flavio is being politically persecuted, when nothing has happened to his brother or stepmother.  

I just hope that the current ruling bloc has some new politicians in place that can succeed Lula by next election. Lula is 81 years old, and the Bolsonaros have a firm grasp on the political right in Brazil. Hopefully by that point, MAGA will be a bad memory.
