Donald Trump Demands Investigations Into Negative Approval Rating Polls - Newsweek |
This is now my favorite story of the year.

Specifically, his royal dipshit has proclaimed of new survey results from ABC News and the New York Times and Sienna on Truth Social:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"These people should be investigated for ELECTION FRAUD, and add in the FoxNews Pollster while you’re at it. They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse. They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing (99.9 percent at the Border, BEST NUMBER EVER!), AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! I wish them well, but will continue to fight to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I liked the inclusion of the "I wish them well" retort near the end there. ![]()
Everything about this story makes me laugh. A lot. The melodrama. The pettiness and general snowflakery that his supporters only project onto everyone else. The casual calls for abuse of power that his supporters will inevitably defend (thus causing them to "loose a lot of credibility"). It all just perfectly encapsulates everything that this administration represents to me. This is the Trump presidency in a nut shell, and I stress the nut part.

Well done Donald Trump for helping to blow Canada's Conservatives 25 point lead only a few months ago into a Liberal minority. I actually think a Liberal minority with NDP in coalition is the best case scenario, I wish Labour in the UK were forced to make a coalition with the Lib Dems instead of their outright majority because I feel the current Lib Dems are more left wing than Starmer.
In other hilarious news, Pierre Poilievre lost his 20+ year seat.

Didn't the same happen to Liz Truss in the last election?

A Liberal minority, but a de facto majority since (from my understanding) the Bloc Québécois generally don't show up when the issues covered in the House of Commons don't pertain to Quebec. So subtract their 11.5 seats from 172, and that line moves back to 161 for the de facto majority... most days! They have a few slippery floor tiles to walk around, they just have to make sure they don't piss off both the BQ and NDP.
My personal opinion - being someone who is on the far left, economically speaking - NDP is actually closer to my values in that regard. I'm a big UBI guy, and I also believe strongly in investing in automation and any infrastructure that allows for the artisanal industry to thrive... although, Greens are more the UBI party, not NDP. The Greens need to do a lot better in Canada.
Careny's an egghead, so I'm quite happy that he's at the helm, rather than someone who is more or less just branding. We'll see what happens. And I'll be voting for the first time in Canada in the next election.

That's a bit of a shame
But at least they still have BQ and NDP keeping them in line in some manner, I hope. I have a automatic distrust of a lot of centrist parties, Lol. A lot of them seem to think the solution to the increasing far-right is to move further to the right to appeal to people who won't ever vote for them in the first place, I would prefer centrist coalition with left wing parties to pull them back.
Pritzker calls for mass protests and disruption - “Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,” he says, swaying their portraits will one day be put in museums “reserved for tyrants and traitors”

in New Hampshire, JB Pritzker hits the "simpering timidity" of many Dems:

“Fellow Democrats, for far too long we’ve been guilty of listening to a bunch of do-nothing political types who would tell us that America’s house is not on fire, even as the flames are licking their faces"
"It's time to fight everywhere and all at once" Pritzker says, blasting "the do nothing crowd" of Dems in response to Republicans:
"We have to abandon the culture of incrementalism that has led us to swallow their cruelty and their callousness with barely a cowardly croak."

This is the kind of fire that Democrats need right now and it's a sad state of the Democrat Party that I'm going to end up rooting for a billionaire in the next election, Lol. Gavin Newsom is busy jerking off Republicans and exposed himself as a complete twat, Bernie is too old but still doing more than most of his party. I like Tim Walz still and see him still fighting but I fear his loss will hurt his chances. I'm only really seeing Bernie, AOC, Pritzker and Walz still rallying. Then there's other Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer actively helping Republicans, Lol.
Anyway, now Trump's team want to arrest Governors I suppose, Lol.
Stephen Miller on Gov. J.B. Pritzker calling for mass protests:
“His comments…could be construed as inciting violence…This war that Democrat governors and mayors are waging against federal law enforcement. I mean, this is nullificationist behavior. This is secessionist behavior.”

It was different though when they were storming the capital, those guys were patriots trying to overthrow government.
