The USA should be happy if the previous trade agreements continue, because Trump is such a pushover that other countries may demand concessions. It may already be too late for American farmers anyway.

The timing of the EU fines, that hit Meta and Apple yesterday, is curious, I might be reading too much into it but it really felt like the EU going "eh? we've got nothing to worry about after all". Trump clearly overplayed his hand.

The fines are way lower than they could have been for some reason. Maybe the EU is testing the waters with this one?

So what exactly did Ukraine need the US for.  Basically they could have done this deal with Russia without US intervention since there is nothing the US is getting from Russia.  Hell, Ukraine isn't even getting a security deal if Russia reneg on the agreement.  Already Putin is showing that he consider the US weak since he continue to strike Ukraine while these supposed negotiations are going on.

Exactly, if Ukraine wanted to surrender they don't need America involved, that is what this is, America's Peace Surrender Plan.

Total capitulation to Russia from America, utterly pathetic to see how far America has fallen.

Then when the world recognises Crimea as Russian, Ukraine can't take it back, and looks the other way at Russia stealing parts of Southern/Eastern Ukraine (Just like the world did in 2014 when they stole Crimea), Russia will then repair their battered army and invade again years down the line, hoping this time they can actually take Kyiv and thus Ukraine.

If they fail once again they will again turn around (Hoping for another spineless Republican) and say "Hey, we will stop at NEW current frontlines, as long as you recognise Kherson, Zaporizhia and Donbas as Russian!" and repeat this process until they've actually managed a successful military campaign. So obvious for anyone to see who isn't a complete moron or a Russian puppet.

But hey, Russia is "making a concession" that they won't slaughter and take over all of Ukraine! Poor Russia! What a hard concession they're having to make, lets ignore also that Russia can't even take the rest of Ukraine right now in their current military state! That's why they want a pause but only if that pause ensures they keep everything they've stolen and keeps Ukraine defenceless against future aggression.

Trump really is a tough negotiator there, the art of the deal is giving your enemy everything they want.

If Russia would get all of what Trump wants, Russia would be just a "few steps" aways from Kherson and only like 15 miles aways from Zaporizhzhia. This means Russia could prepare a new invasion without Ukraine to be able to shoot on anything as long as Russians wouldn't step over that new border.

It's just insanity when you think about that. We aren't talking about some new border with stolen land 500 miles away from some of Ukraine's most important cities.

How can American politicians be so braindead not to realize that? Imagine Russia would be just 5 miles away from New York or Washington...

You say that as if they care. Trump doesn't care if Russia takes Kyiv.

Plus, he somehow forced them to breach seating protocol so he could put on a tacky front-row display. Typically, Catholic royals are seated in front, followed by non-Catholic royals, and then by other heads of state in order of the official names of their countries in French. The U.S. president (Etats-Unis d'Amerique) therefore generally sits in the third row.
