China on Thursday said that there were no ongoing discussions with the U.S. on tariffs, despite indications from the White House this week that there would be some easing in tensions with Beijing.

"At present there are absolutely no negotiations on the economy and trade between China and the U.S.," Ministry of Commerce Spokesperson He Yadong told reporters in Mandarin, translated by CNBC. He added that "all sayings" regarding progress on bilateral talks should be dismissed.

"If the U.S. really wants to resolve the problem ... it should cancel all the unilateral measures on China," He said.

"China definitely wants to see the trade war deescalate, as it hurts both economies," said Yue Su principal economist, China, at The Economist Intelligence Institute. "However, due to the inconsistency of Trump's policies and the lack of clarity around what he actually wants, China's strategy has shifted from focusing on 'what you need' to 'what I need.' Their request for the U.S. to cancel 'unilateral' tariffs reflects that shift."

America is a complete joke to the world right now, they've lost most of their respect, their closest ally right now is the genocidal freak Netanyahu, they can't do shit to China and they're bending over backwards for Russia despite Russia publicly humiliating Trump's "peace" attempts multiple times, now his final offer is giving Putin everything he wants after Putin told America to fuck off.

China's administration already been down this road with Trump before if people remember. During his first term he made a deal with China to start purchasing billions in agricultural products for tariff relief. Trump made a big deal about that negotiations but when it came time for him to remove the tariffs he did nothing. China administration than stated since Trump renegged on his part of the deal they were not going through with the purchase.

After that point, Trump word meant nothing so China's administration understands any negotiations with Trump without him making the move first is a waste of time. This is probably why they are saying, they will not come to the table until Trump acts first by removing those tariffs. If Trump really had any smart negotiations skills he would have realize that playing the lying game to China wasn't a smart move. It showed a complete disrespect in their eyes and from there they will never let that slide again.

Hilarious they're begging China to call them back now.

A shame Zelensky and Ukrainians need these assholes, hopefully Europe will do what is necessary and "never again" put themselves at the mercy of those pushovers.
