The Canadia snowbirds in the Southern U.S. definitely aren't happy about being forced to register. You know that's being used for nefarious purposes.

Canada is the biggest source of tourists to the US by far, followed by Mexico and then very big gap to the UK's third spot. Or rather, were until now, because with all those antics I suspect tourism to the US will be down a lot for the next couple years.

Can't wait to see how the next years totals will be.

Tourism will be down in every category except for rich mobsters, child traffickers, and deposed dictators like Bolsonaro, who will all qualify for Trump's "gold card."

DOJ drops lawsuit over alleged abuse at child migrant shelters in Texas, other states - Texas Tribune

Allegations of rape, inappropriate touching, and nude photos, with the victims warned not to report any abuse.

One of the things that makes me sick is how the right has weaponized the word "pedophile" as a way to silence any opposition, while they look the other way at child sexual abuse by immigration enforcement and pressure other countries for the release of wealthy American sex traffickers, who then get feted at Mar-a-Lago and sporting events in Vegas.

Attacking Tesla Vehicals is not on. That's an attack on citizens and not on Musk, leave peoples property out of your lunacy, you aren't raging against the machine by destroying someones car and attacking the buildings and factories, while less shitty is also pretty fucked but what gets me if you Americans are facing a recession as mentioned in this thread yet so many are so far gone, they'd attempt to tank and destroy Musks industry propping companies (and all those they employ). I swear, China and Russia are rubbing one out just watching these news stories gooning ferociously and blowing loads everytime someone metions Trump or Musk. I swear this will spiral into something much worse and paces the way for cyber dystopian terrorism, many here in Europe are saying we should defend ourselves against Russia by limiting speech and while I'm very much against it, I look at the US who'll uphold free speech even when it indirectly causes severe real world harm and wonder is it worth worrying over...it is though, it's worth the entire system crashing, it's worth a world war down to the last two men fighting, at least the sons and daughters of the dead will know the immense freedom when you aren't imprisoned for a stray thought or speaking out of emotion and will no peace from the fear that comes with that. I would consider great firewalls between each of the super powers however and a hell of a lot of money from defence spending going into programmes to defend against foreign meat bots and restrictions on people under the age of 16 using the Internet in any capacity with ISPs blacklisting offenders to save some semblance of stability.

Isn't society collapsing fantastic, now pump the treble.

https://globalnews.ca/news/11069567/us-travel-down-trump-tariff/

Flight Centre Canada spokesperson Amra Durakovic said interest in U.S. travel began to wane in November. That trend saw explosive growth in February, with leisure travel bookings to the U.S. plunging 40 per cent year over year.

Already 40% down in February

It will be down from the UK as well

Here's the thing, I'm not in favor of these things.

But if you think this is the biggest thing to be concerned about right now, then you are insanely out of touch my friend.

The US is not upholding free speech, they're deporting permanent residents who are protesting things that the American Government doesn't want them to protest.

America is largely seeing a recession because of Trump and to a lesser extent Elon, right now. Trump pissing off Canada, Mexico, Europe, and also flip flopping on these tariffs is not good for consumer confidence.

Mahmoud Khalil and his wife are sure enjoying how the US is upholding free speech right now. They're threatening him with deportation despite being a legal US permanent resident, and they threatened his wife, who is a full US citizen and pregnant, with arrest.  He's being held in a facility in Louisiana, and as far as they're concerned, he and his American wife apparently have no right of habeas corpus, which is the supposed right for you to not be "disappeared" by the U.S. government without access to any kind of legal representation.

I was not aware, sounds rough. Has he caused real world harm though or advocated for real world harm cause that's what ends up being the case when this happens often with veiled semantics. If not, I'm on his side but if so, not so much.

No, he acted as a negotiator between the protesters and the university, trying to get Columbia to divest from Israel.

Khalil, a Palestinian green card holder who is currently in immigration detention in Louisiana, was a lead negotiator for Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a role that thrust him into the spotlight during the pro-Palestinian encampment protests last spring – long before his high-profile arrest. He gained a reputation among fellow protesters as a principled and strategic organizer, earning praise for his ability to de-escalate tense situations.

The wife of detained pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil released a statement calling for her husband’s immediate release, saying he was “kidnapped” by US immigration authorities.
