I know Brazil is usually a very neutral country, which is usually great IMO, but that's still sad to see on this particular case.

Lula is a bit of a moron when it comes to foreign policy, Lol. He's the Jeremy Corbyn of Brazil and I loved Jeremy Corbyn but I have to admit his foreign policy ideals were straight up trash. Lula is probably great domestically as I believe Corbyn would have been but his foreign policy is clouded by a naïve belief, like Jeremy Corbyn, I don't believe he supports Russia one bit but he is one of those "Ahhh can't we all just have peace! Lay down our arms and everyone will dance in harmony!"

He's delusional in foreign policy, but at least he isn't straight up supporting Russia and will see their actions as bad, but he thinks we can just talk it out and everything will be okay, at least, that is the sense that I get from him, I will admit Brazil relies a little bit on Russia too and has understandable reasons for disliking and distrusting America.

But fucking hell, an abstain is a lot better than a straight up no, Lmao. At least Lula's beliefs are clouded in naivety around peace ideals, America is straight up supporting a Nazi Russia and for what? How many wins has Trump given Russia since these negotiations? We must at the dozen mark now, meanwhile Russia has surrendered anything, make America great again? Dude is working way harder to make Russia great again than he is for America, what other concession and win is he going to hand them freely?

America will be bombing Ukrainian positions at this rate.

Lula is a piece of s. The is nothing naive about it.

The thing is that Bolsonaro was so bad, so incredibly unbeliavably bad, that it looks good in comparision.

Bolsonaro is pretty much our Trump, basically 1:1, so nothing comes close to it, but Lula is no good at all.

I still hate Lula but he was the only escape from Bolsonaro. Just look at the news here, we had an actual coup attempt.

I hate Lula because he had the opportunity to do a lot of good to Brazil, and it looked like that was happening way back then before the 2010s, but it was all for the personal benefit of a few, so much corruption going on everywhere, this country could have been so much more. And he was the poor guy with the chance to make things better for us all, which makes it so much worse.

To a certain degree it did happen, a lot of what is normal to do and to have here nowdays was a luxury before, but the only reason a monster like Bolsonaro was ever possible as president here was because of how much shit was discovered during the PT government, people's trust was so broken that they started feeding themselves any absurd lies to believe into just so they could pretend to justify themselvest. Which then turned into blind hate and lunacy akin to a cult, where every mistake needs to be justified so they don't ever have to admit being wrong again, doesn't matter how many times they have to flip flop or how absurd it is.

Lula is likely only worried about not having to butt heads with a bigger country like the USA or Russia, nothing else, sadly, can't risk making them mad, no matter the kind of atrocity being pulled.

Nvm then, I have clearly completely misread him, Lol. I figured he was just another Corbyn, a complete idiot on foreign policy with utter naivety on how the world actually works but coming from a stupid hippie "peace" perspective more than anything else. Though they're too stupid to see that appeasing dictators does not lead to peace and never has.

I hope Brazil is holding Bozonaro (sic) in custody until his trial. He'll flee to the U.S. the first chance he gets otherwise.

Please. No more speeches in the Senate about “freedom” until one Republican has the guts to stand up to Trump’s lies about Ukraine & Putin. Ukraine did not start this horrific war. Russia did. Zelensky isn't a dictator. Putin is. The US must not enter into an alliance with Putin.

Me too, there is far too much to not have him behind bars, any normal person with so much shit on him would have been arrested long, long ago.

Best ally! Telling every country on the planet that USA would always side with their enemy if that is stronger, has more resources or whatever.

But not only that, he straight up tells Americans that USA should help Russia to kill humans with this statement just because Russia is better for USA's economy

So far during this presidency, Republicans have:

1.) antagonized our allies (Denmark, Mexico, Canada)

2.) cozied up to our enemies

3.) working on dismantling much of our government including national parks, and Medicaid.

I think the most frustrating part though, is that many Republicans are celebrating a lot of this.

A lot of them are going to get hurt in the short term and probably the long term even more.

When Trump dies and there's nobody to carry the MAGA torch because it's a cult and nobody else has the same cult following as Trump, I predict we will see a lot of Republicans all of a sudden being like "I never liked Trump anyway!"

There was a lot of revisionist history in MAGA Land after Dubya left office. They canceled the Dixie Chicks because Natalie Maines insulted his war effort in England during a concert.

Speaking as an American who lived in the South, however, I want to emphasize that Trump is a symptom, not the disease. People there have held cultural grievances against the rest of the world for 200 years. They don’t actually care about the price of eggs. It’s more about taking revenge for the humiliation of Appomattox. It’s about anger at the entire world for the decades of liberalization that went on after WWII. They are like the Boers of South Africa writ large.

Keep in mind also that Musk grew up in apartheid South Africa, under the regime of P.W. Botha.
