Jez says 75:25.

The direct quote from Brad Smith: "Think about the market in Europe. It is a market where Sony has an 80% share. Globally, it is about 70/30. In Japan, it is 96/4. These numbers have been remarkably steady for two decades. Even last year, when there were issues with Sony's supply chain, they came back strong."

Look, Sony can outsell us even when they don't manufacture and we say we are close to meeting demand =p

Next numbers they will try to compare PS4Pro+PS5 versus Series X to put PS even more in the lead kkkkk

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Very Bizarre to not include Nintendo in there, but I understand what they are trying to achieve

No it isn't. The regulators and Sony have repeatedly told MS that "Nintendo doesn't count" so MS is using their own nonsense against them. Sony wants Nintendo discounted because it proves that you don't need Call of Duty to have a successful platform. But without Nintendo being included, it worsens their position because outside of the 360. The Xbox brand of consoles have been thoroughly dominated by the Playstation brand in sales. It's the definition of cutting your nose of to spite your face.

Anyone with basic knowledge of gaming knows that Sony's stance is nonsense and frankly hypocritical. Sony buying exclusives from the out set of their entry in the gaming console industry. They had no issues with exclusives, sales, and acquisitions in the past. They've been actively paying developers to keep content off their competition from Tomb Raider 2 on the Saturn (the games developed but shelved) to Final Fantasy VII Remake not being on Xbox consoles now. This situation has revealed that Sony has been paying developers not put games on Gamepass. Sony has been in leader in the console industry for most of the last 30 years. For them to go in front regulators and pretend that they some frail company that will be crushed by this acquisition is ludicrous. Especially when they are actively engaged in anti-competitive tactics themselves.

Not quite. Said sentiments have been muttered prior (long before this deal). I certainly get the noise about acquisitions/money hats/underhanded moves (although that type of stuff happened long before Sony entered the console space), but the problem here is this specific buy. CoD is the biggest 3rd party game out there year-after-year and that's why multiple companies take issue with the purchase. No other acquisition from any other situation comes close.

Xbox is a dead brand on its last leg, nothing will save them. The last gen where xb were somewhat successful was when Sony effed up, for XB to succeed PS have to eff up.

This is going to age hilariously.

With some of the comments in here aloud to stand, when you have mods in this thread just turning a blind eye. The mod team has completely failed the Xbox community once again.

No saving needed. They'll be fine. They'll likely always have a smaller piece of the pie than Nintendo and PlayStation, but they can trek along fine. Their current issue is money bled more than anything. They have to right the declines, but even in their worst case scenario, they cut the hardware out and put Game Pass on everything.

Many here have an issues with Sony and them buying exclusives but both MS and Sony have done this in the past. It's part of the industry, whether we like it or not. All these deals. from console exclusivity, timed exclusivity, console exclusive content or even adding to your service day 1, exist to try and get people into your service/infrastructure. I think money is better spent on new studios or expanding them, their own employees and their own IPs (like no one would even think twice about Sony, Nintendo or MS just commissioned games from 3rd party developers of IPs they owned).

The difference here is scale. A few million here and there is nothing and mostly just a deal/contract between 2 companies compared to MS buying out entire rival publisher.

Hmm, pie.

The scale of the transaction means nothing only the results of the transaction need to be observed and if the resulting entity does not hinder competition from happening it should be allowed to proceed. And here, the actual fact are if you combine both Xbox and Acti-Blizz it still remains 3rd in the industry and still behind PlayStation in revenue.

Sony here is fighting to keep it's PlayStation dominant position over MS Xbox division using all means they could and there's nothing wrong with this as long as they operate in legality, but the same is true for MS and just because MS is now using means Sony isn't able to match does not make it wrong.

I'll chime in. For the most part, the majority of the posts in here are fine. Some a little critical, but that's acceptable (all three main companies face this). One or two are a bit much, but simply because you can act doesn't mean that you always have to. Sometimes, a little education is enough to keep things from escalating and it also depends on the specific situation//user.

Still, I get the criticisms we receive. That's part of the job and thick skin is required. I'll look over it again and if we truly made error, it'll be fixed!
